AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING
SECTION 10.40.310 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO POSTED PARKING REST'RIC'TIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has determined that it is in
the best interests of the public health, safety and welfare that no person park a vehicle
for longer than a specified time on any street in any area where the City's Traffic
Engineer has placed appropriate signs or markings; and
WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 22507 authorizes the City, by
ordinance or resolution, to post parking limitations on any street; and
WHEREAS, the City has duly adopted resolutions which create parking
limitations on streets in several City districts; and
1h'HEREAS, Section 10.40.310 presently prohibits persons from parking vehicles
for longer than a specified time upon any street only within the commercial district of
the City; and
WHEREAS, the City intends that persons parking vehicles on any street with
posted parking limitations shall be in violation of the Redlands Municipal Code;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS
FOLLOWS:
ctior, 1. Section 10.40.310 of the Redlands Municipal Code shall be amended
to read as follows:
"10.40.310 Parking Restricted -- Commercial and other districts.
A. Whenever, by this title or by resolution of the City Coundl, any parking
time limit is imposed on designated streets, it shall be the duty of the City
Traffic Engineer to place appropriate signs or markings giving notice
thereof, and no such regulations shall be effective unless the signs or
markings are installed and in place at the time of any alleged offense.
B. When signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall park any
vehicle for longer than the specified time on any one day, whether the
place of parking is the same changed, and the time of parking is
continuous or interrupted between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.,
except Sundays and holidays, upon any street in the commercial district.

C. When signs are erected or markings are placed giving notice thereof, no
person shall park a vehicle for longer than the specified time on any one
day, whether the place of parking is the same or changed, and the time of
parking is continuous or interrupted upon any street in any district or area
within the City."
Section: The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the Deputy City Clerk shall
certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a summary of it, to be
published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation within
the City, and thereafter, this ordinance shall take effect in accordance with law.
