HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1244_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANOE NO, 1214 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE TO PERMIT THE USE OF CONSTRUCTION PARKING METER HOODS. The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby amends Chapter 62 of the Redlands Ordinance Code by adding the following sections: SECTION 6235. CONSTRUCTION PARKING METER HOODS. Construction Parking Meter Hoods shall be issued to contractors and other applicants in accord- ance with Chapter 44 of the adopted Uniform Building Code of the City of Redlands. 1. Hoods shall be lettered as follows: NO. NO PARKING Reserved by Ordinance No. 1244 Building and Safety Division 6235.1 The Building and Safety Division shall issue Con- struction Meter Hoods in accordance with the following requirements: 1. Each Construction Meter Hood at time of issuance., shall be tagged to properly identify the express purpose of the hood. The tag shall state a. Contractor's name b. Site address of construction c. Date of issuance 2. A parking space properly tagged shall be used only for materials or equipment necessary for the work. 3. Parking meter hoods shall not be used'for private automobiles owned by the workmenp contractors or owners directly concerned with the construction for which a building permit has been'issued. EXCEPTION: pick up trucks or trucks necessary for the construction. 4. Construction Meter Hoods shall be used only at such time as they are occupied during the time of the actual construction, Meter Hoods reserving spaces for mater- ials or construction equipment which cannot be removed at the termination of the working day, may remain on meters during the non-working hours. 6235.2 Each hood shall require a $5.00 deposit to be held by the Treasurerts office. Deposits shall be returned upon receipt of construc- tion hoods by the Building and Safety Division. Deposits shall be for- feited if is determined by the Chief of Police that the hoods were used contrary to these provisions. 6235.3 Enforcement, The Chief of Police shall be responsible for the policing of hoods. The hoods shall be checked to determine if construction materials or construction equipment occupy same. 623:5.4 Fines. Fines shall be le-Tied in accordance with Section 624L of Chapter 62 of the Redlands City Ordinance Code. 6235-5 That Ordinance No. 1175 and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force, from and after its passage as provided by law, The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and published in in the City of Redlands.
