AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE
CODE RELATING TO DISTURBANCES OF THE PEACE AND AMENDING ORDINANCES
NOS . 788 AND 863
WHEREAS, Section 46501 of the Redlands Ordinance Code prohibits
loitering or gathering within the City of Redlands for malicious
purposes or to disturb the peace; and
WHEREAS , certain revisions to Section 40501 are necessary to
facilitate the interpretation and enforcement of its provisions;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS does ordain as follows :
SECTION ONE: That Section 40501 of the Redlands Ordinance Code
be amended as follows :
§40501 . DISTURBING THE PEACE. It is an infraction
for any person within this City: (1) to remain or congre-
gate, collect or gather with other persons in a group, on
a sidewalk, street, lot, unoccupied premises or any public
place in this city, or upon any private premises, with
intent to cause public annoyance, inconvenience or alarm,
or to disturb the peace, or recklessly create a risk
thereof, and refuse to comply with a lawful order of the
police to leave or disperse, or (2) to address another
person or utter in the presence of another any language
likely to induce an immediate breach of the peace .
SECTION TWO: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as
provided by law.
SECTION THREE: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this ordinance and cause the same to 1�e published once in the Redlands
Daily Facts , a newspaper of general c ' culatior printed and published
in this city. g=

that the foregoing ordinance was duly adopted by the City Council at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of August, 1982 , by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Gorman, Johnson; Mayor Roth
NOES : None
ABSENT: Councilmembers DeMirjyn, Martinez
