HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1870_CCv0001.pdf .AREA, k`4 ORDINANCE NO. 1870 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING ARTICLE 926 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE AND ORDINANCE NO. 1447 REGARDING THE PRESERVATION OF CUTSTONE CURBS AND WALLS WHEREAS , the cutstone curbs in the City of Redlands are a unique and valuable asset and can be preserved in as safe a manner as can concrete curbs ; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows : SECTION ONE: That Section 92600 of the Redlands ordinance Code and Section 1 of ordinance No . 1447 be amended to read as follows : § 92600 . The existence of sidewalks , curbs , and gutters constructed of material other than concrete or cutstones adjoining building, structures, or dwellings within the City of Redlands or conversely, the lack of adequate curbs, gutters , paved streets , sidewalks, drainage structures, and street lights is hereby found to be dangerous to the public health and safety of the inhabitants of said City. SECTION TWO: That Section 92601 of the Redlands Ordinance Code and Section 2 of Ordinance No . 1447 be amended by the addition of the following paragraph: (e) For streets which are on the City 's priority list for cut- stone curb preservation and for other streets in which fifty percent (50%) or more of the lots in a block are developed and in which at least fifty percent (50%) of the block has cutstone curbs in good condition, existing cut- stone curbs shall be maintained and repaired. However, if such streets are required to be widened, the replacement of cutstone curbs in the new location shall be at the option of the Public Works Department . SECTION THREE: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided by law. SECTION FOUR: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts , a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in this City.
