AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE CALIFORNIA PENAL
CODE REQUIREMENTS RELATING TO THE SELECTION AND
TRAINING STANDARDS OF PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City of Redlands declares that it desires
to qualify to receive aid from the State of California under
the provisions of Section 13522, Chapter 1, Title 4, Part 4 , of
the California Penal Code.
SECTION 2 : Pursuant to Section 13510 (c) , Chapter 1, the
Redlands Police Department will adhere to standards for
recruitment and training established by the California
Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) .
SECTION 3 : Pursuant to Section 13512, Chapter 1, the
Commission and its representatives may make such inquiries as
deemed appropriate by the Commission to ascertain that the
Redlands Police Department public safety dispatcher personnel
adhere to standards for selection and training established by
the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.
SECTION 4 : This ordinance shall be in force and take
effect as provided by law.
SECTION 5: The mayor shall sign this ordinance and the
City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and
cause it to be published in the Redlands Daily Facts, a
newspaper of general circulation printed and published in this
city.

regular meeting thereof held on the 20th day of December, 1988,
by the following votes:
AYES : Councilmembers Wormser, DeMirjyn , Johnson, Cunningham;
NOES: Mayor Beswick
