AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
AMENDING ARTICLE 192 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE AND
ORDINANCE NO. 1951 RELATING TO THE REDEVELOPMENT ADVISORY
COMMISSION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS does ordain as
follows :
SECTION 1. That Article 192 of the Redlands Ordinance Code
and Ordinance No. 1951 is hereby amended to read as follows :
ARTICLE 192
REDEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMISSION
19201. EXISTENCE. There is a Redevelopment Advisory
Commission of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands as
established by Redevelopment Agency Resolution No. 187 to advise
and support the Agency in carrying out the objectives of the
Redevelopment Plan of the City of Redlands .
§ 19202 . MEMBERS - APPOINTMENT AND TERMS OF OFFICE.
The Commission shall consist of seven members appointed by the
Redevelopment Agency. The members shall serve staggered terms
of three years each . Successors shall be appointed by the Agency ,
Any vacancy that occurs other than by expiration of term shall be
filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term. The
members of the Commission shall be residents of the City .
§ 19203. MEMBERS - FORFEITURE OF OFFICE BY ABSENCE .
Any Commissioner who is absent from any three consecutive regular
meetings of the Commission, unless excused from such attendance
by consent of the Commission expressed by action of record in
its minutes , shall automatically forfeit his or her office as a
member of the Commission. The Redevelopment Agency shall fill
the vacancy by appointment.
§ 19204 . ORGANIZATION AND MEETINGS . The Commission
shall annually elect a chairman, who shall serve for a term of
one year, and such officers as the Commission may deem advisable .
Except as otherwise provided herein, the Commission shall provide
for its own organization, and shall adopt rules and regulations
for the transaction of business before it, and shall designate
the time and place for its regular monthly meeting or meetings .
The Commission may use the Council Chambers in the Safety Hall
as the place for its meetings , provided that such meetings do
not conflict or interfere with meetings of the City Council .
Four members of the Commission shall constitute a quorum for the
transaction of business .
The Redevelopment Director shall serve as staff of
the Commission.
19205 . POWERS AND DUTIES . It shall be the duty of
the Commission to provide advice , assistance and support to the
Redevelopment Agency on redevelopment matters . The Commission
shall endeavor to promote public interest in and understanding of
the Redevelopment Plan and the regulations relating thereto.
The Commission shall keep records of all of its official
acts and proceedings and shall make reports to the Agency .
SECTION 2 . This Ordinance shall be in force and take effect
as provided by law.
SECTION 3 . The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City
Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and shall
cause it to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a
newspaper of general circulation printed and published in this
City.
