HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1921_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 1921 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2601 . 2 AND 2641 . 4 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE TO CONFORM TO THE CALIFORNIA REVENUE AND TAXATION CODE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 . Section 2601 . 2 of the Redlands Ordinance Code is hereby amended to read as follows : 112601. 2 HOTEL. 'Hotel ' means any struc- ture, or any portion of any structure, which is occupied or intended or designed for occupancy by transients for dwelling, lodging or sleeping purposes and includes any hotel, inn, tourist home or house, motel, studio hotel, bachelor hotel , lodging house, rooming house, apartment house, dormitory, public or private club, mobile home located outside a mobile home park, or house trailer at a fixed loca- tion, or other similar structure or portion thereof . 'Hotel ' does not mean any hospital, convalescent home or sanitarium. " SECTION 2 . Section 2601 . 4 of the Redlands Ordi- nance Code is hereby amended to read as follows : 112601 . 4 TRANSIENT. 'Transient ' means any person who exercises occupancy or is entitled to occupancy by reason of con- cession, permit , right of access, license or other agreement for a period of thirty ( 30) consecutive calendar days or less, counting portions of calendar days as full days. Any such person occupying space in a hotel shall be deemed to be a transient until the period of thirty ( 30) days has expired unless there is an agreement in writing between the operator and the occupant providing for a longer period of occupancy. In determining whether a person is a transient , uninter- rupted periods of time extending both prior and subsequent to the effective date of this chapter may be considered . 'Transient ' does not include a mobile home tenant when the tenant is an employee of the owner or operator of the mobile home. " SECTION 3 . This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided by law. SECTION 6 . The Mayor shall sign this ordinance, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it or a summary of it to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in this City.
