ORDINANCE NO. 1771
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING THE
REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE BY ESTABLISHING A SIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1770
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS does ordain:
SECTION ONE: That Ordinance No. 1770 be amended by the addition
of Section 84516 to read as follows :
§ 84516 . SIGN ADVISORY COMMITTEE. The Sign
Advisory Committee shall consist of the Director of Building
and Safety or his designated representative and the Director
of Planning and Community Development or his designated
representative.
All new signs not required to be
approved by the Planning Commission shall be approved by
the Sign Advisory Committee.
Replacement of sign copy on existing
legally installed sign structures shall be approved by the
Director of Building and Safety.
The Sign Advisory Committee shall
review the location, size, height, content, and architec-
tural design of all signs and support structures. Any
feature of a sign which the Committee determines to be in
conflict with the regulations or the stated intent and
purpose of this code shall be referred to the Planning
Commission for a decision. Application for referral to
the Planning Commission shall be made on a form provided
by the Planning and Community Development Department and
accompanied by a filing fee as set by the City Council .
City Council appeal of a Commission decision shall be
filed with the City Clerk within ten (10) days from the
date of the Commission decision.
SECTION TWO: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as
provided by law.
SECTION THREE: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Redlands Daily
Facts, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in
this city.

that the foregoing ordinance was duly adopted by the City Council at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of October, 1981, by the
following vote:
AYES : Councilmembers DeMirjyn, Gorman, Riordan, Roth
NOES: None
ABSENT: COuncilmember Martinez
