AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS , CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
1169, ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 5th, 1961, ENTITLED AS FOLLOWS : "AN ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS , CALIFORNIA, REGULATING THE ERECTION, CONSTRUC-
TION, REPAIR, ALTERATION, REMOVAL, RELOCATION, OR MAINTENANCE OF SIGNS,
BILLBOARDS, AND ADVERTISING STRUCTURES WITHIN THE CITY OF REDLANDS :
PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND FEES THEREFORE: THE REVOCA-
TION OF PERMITS : REMOVAL OF NONCONFORMING SIGNS AND ADVERTISING
STRUCTURES : AND THE REPEAL OF CERTAIN ORDINANCES . "
The City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows :
SECTION ONE: That Section 108 - Signs Prohibited on Public
Property -- shall be and is hereby amended as follows :
Section 108 - SIGNS PROHIBITED ON PUBLIC PROPERTY - No person,
except a public officer or employee in performance of a public
duty, shall place, paste , nail , paint , tack, wire or otherwise fas-
ten any card, banner, pennant , handbill , sign, portable sign,
poster or advertisement or notice of any kind, including political
material ; or cause the same to be done , on any pavement , sidewalk,
parking place, step, curbstone , lamppost , pole , signpost , hydrant,
bridge , wall or tree located upon a street or upon public property
except as may be required by ordinance or law, "
SECTION TWO : That all other ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION THREE: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect
as provided by law.
SECTION FOUR: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the
Redlands Daily Facts, a daily newspaper hereby designated for that
purpose.
