AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
AMENDING ARTICLE 845 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE
REGULATING SIGNS AND ADVERTISING STRUCTURES IN THE CITY
OF REDLANDS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS does
ordain as follows :
SECTION ONE: That Section 84510 .19 (h) of the
Redlands Ordinance Code and Ordinance No. 1770 be
amended to read as follows :
BUILDING SIGN CODE § 84510 . 19 (h)
h . Off-Site Subdivision Directional Sign (s) : The location and
installation of such sign (s) shall be administered by the
Baldy View Chapter of the Building Industry Association in
accordance with the following provisions .
(1) Panel and sign structure design to be approved by the
Community Development Administrator.
(2) A sign structure shall be located not less than 600
feet from an existing or previously approved sign site .
Each sign may only contain the name of the subdivi-
sions and a directional arrow.
(3) The placement of each sign structure shall be reviewed
and approved by the Director of Building and Safety
and the Community Development Administrator.
(4) All signs are to be placed on private property or City
right-of-way with written consent of the property owner
or a City Encroachment Permit obtained and filed with
the Department of Building and Safety prior to
issuance of a permit.
(5) A sign location plan shall be prepared showing the
site of each directional sign and shall be submitted
by the Department of Building and Safety prior to the
issuance of a sign permit.
(6) Any such sign approved for a particular subdivision
within the City shall not be changed to advertise
another subdivision without the approval of the
Director of Building and Safety.
(7) There shall be no additions , tag signs , streamers ,
devices , display boards , or appurtenances added to the
signs as originally approved . No other directional
sign shall be used, such as poster or trailer signs .
(8) No subdivision signs shall be erected advertising
tracts located outside the City limits .
(9) Subject signs shall be allowed until the subdivision
is sold out or for a period of twelve (12) months ,
whichever comes first. Extensions of this twelve (12)
month time limit may be approved by the Director of
Building and Safety in cases of hardships .

(10) No sign (s) shall be placed on a developed parcel or
on public property adjacent to a developed parcel
regardless of zone classification.
(11) All sign (s) located on or adjacent to a vacant parcel
shall be removed within thirty (30) days after start
of development on such vacant property.

SECTION TWO: Ordinance No, 1884 is hereby rescinded in
its entirety.
SECTION 'THREE: This Ordinance shall be in force and take
effect as provided by law,
SECTION FOUR: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once
in the Redlands Daily Facts , a newspaper of general circulation
printed and published in this City.
