AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING
CHAPTERS 3.52 AND 3.66 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO WATER AND SOLID WASTE RATES
WHEREAS, based upon review of the FY 94/95 Budget and testimony
presented to the City Council of the City of Redlands by City staff, this City Council
has determined that it is desirable to reduce the City's rates for water and solid waste
service, and at the same time cover the reasonable costs incurred by the City for
providing such service; and
WHEREAS, the California Health and Safety Code Section 5471 requires
that any change in water and solid waste rates be made by ordinance adopted by a
two-thirds vote of the City Council;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: Section 3.52.040, the Water Service Rate Schedule, Item A., of the
Redlands Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION TWO: Section 3.66.040, Item A., of the Redlands Municipal Code is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"3.0.040 Amount of Charges.
The amount of solid waste rates shall be as follows:

'Any container (bin, roll-off, lugger, can) picked up containing tires, will be charged at a rate three
times the regular rate for the corresponding service.
9Roll-Off Double Loading - 10 % Surcharge on Total
10Residential, and construction site services. Non-sorted recyclable construction and demolition
solid waste consisting of concrete, asphalt and wood will be charged at three times the landfill and
State mandated surcharge rates.

SECTION THREE: These rates shall be effective for the first full bi-monthly billing period,
subsequent to the effective date of this ordinance.
SECTION FOUR: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause it, or
a summary of it, to be published once in the San Bernardino Sun Telegram and the Redlands
Daily Facts and , newspapers of general circulation printed and published in this City and the
City's service area, and thereafter this ordinance shall be in force and take effect in accordance
with law.
