AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DELETING CHAPTER 12.24 AND
AMENDING CHAPTER 17.28 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
STORM DRAIN FACILITIES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 12.24 of the Redlands Municipal Code relating to the Advisory
Committee for the construction of street and drainage facilities is hereby deleted in its entirety.
Section 2. Chapter 17.28 of the Redlands Municipal Code relating to drainage facilities is
hereby deleted in its entirety and rewritten to read as follows:
"17.28 Drainage Facilities
17.28.010 Enclosure Required
All drainage channels existing, or proposed or required to be constructed as part of
any permit or entitlement approved by the City, shall be enclosed by a conduit consisting of
reinforced concrete pipe or reinforced concrete structure in accordance with design and construction
plans approved by the City's Public Works Director. Such drainage channels shall be designed and
constructed to withstand all anticipated external loading, and in a manner that ensures the channel
is accessible for maintenance by the City and others with motorized equipment and that best protects
the health and safety of the public.
17.28.020 Exempt Facilities
The Reservoir Canyon Storm Drain, located on the northeasterly side of Redlands
Boulevard between Palm Avenue and Ford Street; the Mill Creek Zanja Drain, for its entire length
within the City;and any other storm drain facilities designated"historic"pursuant to this Code,shall
be exempt from the enclosure requirement of this Chapter."
Section 3. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a summary of it, to be published once in the

Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, and thereafter, this
ordinance shall take effect in accordance with law.
