HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_0916_CCv0001.pdf V!, U_ ORDINANCE No. 916 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RZDL�UZS, C�LIFW-MIA, DESIGNATM-iG CERTAIN STREETS AS BOULEVARDS AND RE('UIR`MG TIIAT ALL VEHICLES S:LUL BE STOPPED BEFORE IZITERING OR CROSSDIG S11,ID BOL`LET1,!-,,R1)S, CREATIaM CERTAIN MTE'RSECTIONS 3 STOP INTERSECTIMS. _Lhe City Council of the City of I'Ledle-nds does ordain as follows: Section One: That the following streets are hereby declared to constitute a boulevard within the meaning of the "California Vehicle Act, " and that all vehicle traffic shall be stopped before entering of crossing said boulevards and streets: LUGO11TIA AVMM, for its entire length; COLTON A-13MUE, for its entire length; UNIVERSITY STREET NORTH, for its entire length; CRESCEPINT AVE14ME at its intersection with Monterey Street; ALVARADO ST'` T at its intersection with Pali Avenue . Section Two: The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to erect and maintain stop signs conforming to requirements of the California Vehicle Code at the entrance to all streets intersecting or entering said above streets hereinabove declared to be boulevard Paid through streets. Section Three: 'Mien stop signs are erected as in this Ordinance pro- vided, at the entrance to any such intersection, every driver of a vehicle shall stop his vehicle at every such sign before entering such intersection. Section Four: Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Fifty Dollars (,,100-00) , or by imprisonment in the City or County Jail for not more than five (5) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section Five: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval as provided by law. Section Six: Any and all Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section Seven: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this UrdinanGe and shall cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, the newspaper hereby designated for that purpose . zz hljq;y'�I.
