AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA) DESIGNATING
CERTAIN STREETS AS BOULEVARDS AND REQUIRING THAT ALL VEHICLES
SHALL BE STOPPED BE]`.ORE ENTERING OR CROSSING SAID BOULEVARDS;
AND CREATING CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS AS STOP lNTERSSECTIONS.
The City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows :
Section One : That the following streets are hereby declared to consti-
tute a bouiO_ard within the meaning of the "California Vehicle Act" and
that all vehicle traffic shall be stopped before entering or crossing
said boulevards and streets :
CENTER STREET at its intersection with Olive Avenue, and that all vehicle
traffic entering said Center Street from Olive Avenue shall Stop before
doing so, thus making this a four-way stop, as OLIVE AVENUE at said inter-
section has heretofore been designated as such a boulevard.
ALVARADO STREET at its intersection with Cypress Avenue, and that all
vehicle traffic entering said Alvarado Street shall stop before doing so.

CENTRAL AVENUE at its intersection with Grove Street, and that all
vehicle traffic entering said Central Avenue shall stop before doing so.
GARDEN STREET at its intersection with Hilton 'Avenue and that all vehicle
traffic entering said Garden Street shall stop before doing so.
CYPRESS AVENUE at its intersection with Roosevelt Road and that all
vehicle traffic entering said Cypress Avenue shall stop before doing so.

Section Two : The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to erect and
maintain C P SIGNS conforming to the require:,,:entz of the CaliJ.'ornia
Vehicle Act at the entrance to all streets entering intersecting or said

above streets hereinabove declared to be boulevard streets.
Section Three: When Stop signs are erected as in this Ordinance oro-
vi ed, every driver of a vehicle shall stop his vehicle at every such
sign before entering such intersections.
Section Four: Any person violating any of the provisions of this

aTl be guilty of a sdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Fifty ($50-00) Dollars , or by
imprisonment in the City or County Jail for not more than five ( 5) days,
or' by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section Five : Any and all ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section Six: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after ids passage and approval as provided by law.
Section Seven: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the s,,L,,-ne to be published once in the Redlands
Daily Facts, the newspaper hereby designated for that purpose.

the City Councilof the City of Roddlands , at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 16th day of June, 1953 , by the following
Vote, to-wit :
Ayes : Councilmen Van Diest, Putnam, Elkins , Anderson and
Mayor Folkins.
Noes : None.
Absent : None.
