AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RZDLAND_;, C.°,LIFORNIA, DESIGNATING CE :TAIN STREETS
AS BOULEVARDS AND RE�jUIRIi* THAT ALL VEHICLES SHALL BE STOPPED BEFORE ENTERING
OR C=BOSSING SAID BOULEVARDS, AND CRATING CERTAIN INTERSECTIONS AS STOP INTER2
SECTIONS.
The City Council of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows:
Section One: That the following streets are hereby declared to constitute
a boulevard within the meaning of the "California Vehicle Act" and that all vehicle
traffic shall be stopped before entering or crossing said boulevards and streets:
Cypress Avenue at its intersection with Alvarado Street, and that all vehicle
traffic entering said Cypress Avenue shall stop before doing so.
San Mateo Street at its intersection with Cypress Avenue, and that all vehicle
trgffic entering said San Mateo shall stop before doing so, and Cypress Avenue at
its intersection with San Mateo Street, and that all vehicle traffic entering said
Cypress Avenue shall stop before doing; so, thereby making said intersection a four
way stop intersection.
Church Street at its intersection with Central Avenue, and that all vehicle
traffic entering said Church Street shall stop before doing so, and Central Avenue
at its intersection with Church Street,and that all vehicle traffic entering said
Central Avenue shall stop before doing so, thereby making said intersection a four
way stop intersection.
University Street at its intersection with Citrus Avenue, and that all vehicle
traffic entering said University Street shall stop before doing so, and Citrus Ave-
nue at its intersection with University Street, and that all vehicle traffic enter-
ing said Citrus Avenue shall stop before doing so, thereby making said intersection, a
four-way stop intersection.
Section Two: The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to erect and maintain
stop signs conforming to requirements of the California Vehicle Code at the entrance
to all streets intersecting or entering said above streets hereinabove declared to
be boulevard streets.
Section Three; When stop signs are erected as in this Ordinance provided, at
the entrance to any such intersection, every driver of a vehicle shall stop his
vehicle at every such sign before entering such intersection.
Section Four: Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished
by a fine not exceeding Fifty Dollars 050.00), or by imprisonment in the City
or County Jail for not more than five (5) days, or by both such fine and imprison-
ment.
Section Five: Any and all ordinances in conflict with the provisions of
this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section Six: This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval as provided by law.
Section Seven: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance
and shall cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, the
newspaper hereby designated for that purpose.

the City Council of the City of Redlands at an adjourned regular meeting
thereof held on the 27th day of October, 1953, by the following vote,
to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Van Diest, E-utnam., Elkins, Anderson and Mayor Folkins
