Applicatioy-1 fcr such .i ns shall be writton, addro3nod to the Council, and filed with the Clork. The application aball include the following inform atlon: a) The namo of the ownor, if a single person, his address, and M5 agoffi if a PartnzPohip, tho respective names, addresses a6d sgo?4, of tho partnora, if a corporation the namo of the corporation, Ito place and date of incorporation, and the namas and addvowsos of its principle offioero. b) The name undor which the firm is to oporato and the prospoctive address of the firm. c) The names of those whom tho ownav Men& to omploy, in the op,ra- tion of the firm. d) A description of tho color scheme and distinctivo Maignia to bt, employed. o) A lancription of the taxicabs to bo used in the operation of the firm, including make, model, motor and scrial aunbcrs, state licenvo nurber, and seating capacity, f) Whether or not a provIous City Licenno has been revoked, and if so, the dato and conditions of such revocation. g) Any further infovmation that too Council may requiro. h) The wltnoaa and seal of a Hotary Public. The Council shall examino the application in the prosanao of the petitioner and shall 03uz a liconso to him If, in their opinion, the operations of tho propos& company will serve the public need and con- veninuce. This lisanso shall be subject to Pavocation Msuspansi= if the Council decides that the owner is not carrying on the business in a proper manner and If the owner violates any of the provisions of this ordinance. SEOTION THRKF� LIABILITY INSURANCE It shall be unlawful for any owner to operate 'ar cause to be operatUd any taxicab in the City without liability insurance or bond as herein pro- Mod, Before beginning operations, the _owner shall deliver to the Clark a certificate or an insuu�anae company quaified and llawniud to operate in thy; Stato of California, showing that he has engagsd said company to guarautee payment of all legal claims for damages to persons or property, resulting from the operation of tho owner's taxicabs. The minimum amount of liability aasumed under such policies shall be $ 0000.0r the Injury or death of one perzon and 150,000.00 for injury or death of more than one person in any one aecidgnt. The minimum amouat of liability a8sumea by these policies for damage to property as a result of the operation of said taxicaba shall be Q,000,00. In lieu of such policies, a bond may be presented to the Clerk of a solvent and licensed firm with forfoiture proviHons similar to those stated above for a regular insurance company policy. The Clerk al present these evidencos of11ability insurance to the Council and the Council ahall have the power to accept or reject thom. In ease of rejection, the Council may direct the owner to submit any other 0 certificatoo or policies that tho Council shall deem aatisfactory,, SECTION FOUR DR EM PBRMIT it shall be unlawful for a driver to operate a taxicab in this City-, without a permit issued by the Chiof of Police. Ho shall also supply two Patent pilturoa or himself, one of which shall be filad in the palico rocords , und the other to bo attached to the permit issued to him, This pormit, netting fortb the tho owne& 3 name and addrcov, and beapins t drrivoplz picture , shall ba dis- playod while the AnYvao As op3rating the taxicab 3o as to ba easily vioiblo in tho paasonprlscompartmont of the taricab,, If the driver violates any of the ragala tions heroin set forth, or Is eonvicted of two on mora traffic violations while per ming a taxicab, ho shall be liable to auapenMon or revocation of this permit. 8ECTION FIVE CAB STANDS, The City Council may designate special cab stands for tho use of taxi- cabs while awaiting omploymzat If the proposed stands will not interfere with the public convenience and provIdod that the owner requeating the stand complies with the following regulations : a) The owner nus t make formal application to the City Council for a stand; describing the proposed location of the Md. stand. b) He must accompany thjs application with a signed statement by the owner of the proierty in front of which tho stand Is to be located,, 0 He must show in thia application that the stand will not inter-, fare withishe public convenience. SECTION SEVEN OPERATION OF TAXICABS Each driver must operate his taxi gab in accordance with the following rules Violations of these rules may result in revocation to suspension of his driver ts permit, an provided in Section Four of this ordinance. a) He shall at all times take the most direct pduties that is practic- able and safe to the destination indicated by the passenger. b ) He shall Issue receipts for the paid fare at the demand of the passenger, It shall be unlawful for anyone to refuse to pay, with intent to defraud, the legal fare after engaging a taxicab. d) In the event of a dispute over the payment of the fare, the driver shall convey the passenger to the police station where the officer In charge shall decide the qveshion� His decislon shall be final and tho drivcr will be required to accept and the pa8anagey pay they amount upon which he decides. SELTION EIGHT Sffective Date This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its final adoption by the Council� All taxleab companies now operating in the City will com- plete applications and comply with the other directions of the Council with- in thirty days after its coming into force. SECTION NINE MISDEMEANOR FOR VIOLATI011 Any person, fir" or corporation who shall violate any of the provisioni of this ordinance shall bo guilty of a Miadameanor and upon convictic- , n_ theronP, ahall be punl3hod by a fine of not more than Q00.00, or imprison.- , moat, in the 01ty Jail, or the County Kilt of th3 County of San Dernar- dino, for a period of not more than thirty (30) days or by both such .i .a: and inpriaonmunt. SECTIOU TEN CONFLICTINO OnDIKANCE3 All ordinancou or parts of ordinances incon5istant with the provisions of this ordinanc5 ara hereby repealed, provited however that the provivionz! C; the Businewo Liconse Ordinance No. 867 are deemad not to be in confliot with this ordinance, ard a business license pursuant to said Ordinance Ka. 867 is neceswry and a further requirement for the caprying on of the tax,,L business or the operation of a taxi within this city. SECTION ELE7Z'114 The City Clerk Is hereby ordered nd directed to certify to the pass- age of this ordinance and to cause same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspapap of Several circulation, pKated, published aK. circulated in the City of Red!Lnds.
