ORDINANCE NO. 1410
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING
CHAPTER 67 OF THE REDLANDS ORDINANCE CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS :
SECTION ONE: That Chapter 20 of the Redlands Ordinance
Code is hereby amended by changing Article 677, Sections
67711 (a) and (b) to read as follows :

67708. UNATTENDED MOTOR VEHICLE. No person
driving or in charge of a motor vehicle shall permit it to
stand unattended without first stopping the engine, locking
the ignition, removing the key and effectively setting the
brake thereon and, when standing upon any grade, turning the
front wheels to curb or side of the highway.
67709. RESTRICTION OR PROHIBITION OF PARKING.
(a) Whenever the City Council determines
upon the basis of a traffic engineering investigation that
it is necessary to prohibit stopping, standing or parking of
vehicles on certain highways or portions thereof or on any
municipal parking lot at all or certain hours of the day in
order to facilitate the movement of traffic or to eliminate
hazardous conditions, the City Council shall be resolution,
direct the Traffic Engineer to place appropriate signs or
curb markings as designated in Section 68905 on such high-
ways or portions thereof or on such municipal parking lot.

(b) Whenever the City Council upon the
basis of a traffic engineering investigation finds that
the conditions because of which it was necessary to prohibit
the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles at all or
certain hours of the day as provided in Section 67709 (a) ,
no longer exist, the City Council shall by resolution direct
the Traffic Engineer to remove such signs and curb markings
from such highways or portions thereof.
67710. TEMPORARY NO PARKING. Whenever the
Traffic Engineer determines that traffic congestion or
traffic hazard of any emergency nature is likely to result
from the operation, stopping, standing or parking of vehicles
during the holding of public or private assemblages,
gatherings, or functions, or during the construction, alter-
ation, repair or improvement of any highway, or for any other
reason, he may place or cause to be placed, temporary signs
prohibiting the operation, stopping, standing, or parking of
vehicles during the existence of such emergency.
67711. USE OF STREETS FOR STORAGE OF VEHICLES
PROHIBITED.
(a) No person who owns or has possession,
custody or control of any vehicle shall park such vehicle
upon any street or alley for more than a consecutive period
of 72 hours. (1410)
(b) In the event a vehicle is parked or j
left standing upon a street in excess of a consecutive period
of 72 hours, the police chief or any member of the police
department or any member of the Highway Patrol may remove said
vehicle from the street in the manner and subject to the
requirements of the Vehicle Code. (1410)

SECTION TWO. This ordinance shall be in force and take
effect as provided by law.
SECTION THREE. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in the
Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation printed
and published in the City of Redlands .
