An ordinance to regulate the use of motor cycles,autornohiles,
or other riding machines or vehicles within the limits of the City
of Redlands.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Redlands d- ordain as folloWS
Section m:-- It shall be unlawful for any Person to ride,run or

propel az1y motor cYcle,automobllo,or -M444W riding machine or vehicle
Propelled by electrzcltY,gasoline,steam or other motive POwer,upon
or along any R1dXWa# public sidewalk within the City of Redlands','or
to ride ,run or propel any xxa k mxmk#xn eta X&Xjff3:ax motor cycle,auto�-
sue h
mobile or anyAriding machine or vehicle upon the public streets
Of' said city at a ,greater rate of speed than '� miles an hoursk;or
to X%X ride,run or plebpel any such cycletautomobile ,machine or

vehicle upon said streets ,in the night time ,without carrying or
having attached theretolight and also an alarm bell of suf r.,i.ent f
size and power that the ordinary sound thereof can be distinctly
heard fora distance of L" yards by a person of ordinary hearing
faculties ,and which,,,shall be distinctly sounded at fl distance of £4
traveling upon said streets
from 40 to 60 feet from any person

vehicle is being ridden or Propelled.
Section 2 :-- It shall be unlawful for any person riding,running z

therein,at a rate of speed greater than Miles an hour.
Section 3 :- Any person vrho shall violate or fail to (.,Or ly
with any of the provisione of this ordinance slial.l,upon conviction
thereof be fined not exceeding ,,.

such fine be imprisoned at the rate of one days iraprisowent for
every two dollars of such fine.
Section 4 :-- This ordinance shali take effect and be in force;
