AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING
TITLE 10 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has established a civilian
volunteer program to assist the City ' s police department in the
conduct of its operations; and
WHEREAS, as part of the program, it is the desire of the
City ' s police department to authorize civilian volunteers to assist
the City in enforcing various provisions of the Redlands Municipal
Code relating to parking enforcement;
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Redlands as follows:
Section 1 . Chapter 10. 04 of the Redlands Municipal Code
is hereby amended by the addition of Section 10 . 04 . 202 which shall
read as follows:
1110. 04 . 202 Parking Control Officer.
'Parking control officer ' means any officer or
employee of the City' s police department, or any civilian
volunteer, authorized by the Chief of Police to enforce
the provisions of this Title relating to the parking of
vehicles on public and private property. "
Section 2 . Section 10. 44 . 080 of the Redlands Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
1110 . 44 . 080 Enforcement Duty.
It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to
enforce the provisions of this Chapter. The Chief of

Police shall effect enforcement through the use of
Parking Control Officers. "
Section 3 . The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the
City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and
shall cause it, or a summary of it, to be published once the
Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation within the
City, and thereafter, this ordinance shall take effect in
accordance with law. -

September , 1992 , by the following vote:
