ORDINANCE NO. 1158
THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS IS HEREBY AMENDED BY ADDING
CHAPTER. 66 TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

Definitions
6601. "TRAILER COACH" is a vehicle other than a motor vehicle, de-
signed for human habitation, for carrying personas and./or property on
its own structure and for being drawn by a motor vehicle.
§ 6602. "AUTO AND TRAILER PARK" is any area or tract of land where
space is rented or held out for rent to two or more owners or users of
trailer coaches..
§ 6603 . "CAMP CAR" is a vehicle with or wat.hout emotive power which
is designed for human: habitation and which may contain plumbing,
heating, or electrical equipment.
Article 661.
General.
§ 6610. OVERNIGHT PARKING. It is unlawful to pane a trailer coach
overnight upon any street, alley, or other public highway within the
City, including the right of way. This provision shall not apply
where a trailer is panted for the purpose of mating emergency repairs.
§ 6611. REMOVAL OF WHEELS. It is unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation owning or operating a trailer coach or camp car to remove
or cause to have removed the wheels or any similar transporting devices
from said trailer or camp car or to otherwise permanently fix it to the
ground in a manner that would prevent its immediate removal.
§ 6612 . HOUSING REQUIREMENTS Any alteration to a trailer coach or
camp car as described in Section 6611, shall be construed as removing
it from the requirements of this Chapter and converting it into a
dwelling; and it shall thereupon be subject to the requirements of the
Building Code of this City and the State Housing Act of California.
§ 6613 . ACCESSORY BUILDING. No Accessory building. ramada, cabana,
or other similar structure for use with any trailer coach or camp car
shall be permitted, with the exception of a metal or cloth awning or

similar temporary device.
§ 6614. "SIGNS AND NAME PLATES" . Existing trailer parks shall be
permitted to display on each street frontage thereof, one identifying
sign of ten (10) square feet, which shall show only the name and address
of the Auto and Trailer Park. Any such sign may be lighted, but neon or
flashing signs are prohibited.
§ 6616. PARKING. No trailer coach or camp car shall be parked with-
in any front or side setback area, or any area which provides ingress
or egress to a garage or other place used for stopping, parking, or
storage of vehicles.
Article 662
Trailers on Private Property
6621 . PERMISSION OF LANDOWNER REQUIRED. It is unlawful for any
person to place, keep or maintain any trailer coach or camp car on any
land within the City without the express permission of the owner of
such land.
§ 6622 . PERMITTED TRAILER ON LAND. No person shall permit any
trailer coach or camp car to be placed, kept or maintained for the pur-
pose of habitation on any land owned or controlled by him, except in an
auto trailer camp.
§ 6623 . EXCEPTION: FAMILY DWELLING. Not more than one (1) trailer
coach or camp car of a nonpaying guest shall be located in the rear
yard of a family dwelling, for the purpose of habitation, with permis-
sion of the landowner. Under this section, no trailer coach or camp
car shall be placed, kept, or maintained in any rear yard for more than
three (3) months during a periodcf twelve (12) months.
§ 6624. CONDITIONS TO BE OBSERVED. The following conditions, shall
be complied with during said period of ninety (90) days:
.1 Cleanliness. The trailer coach or camp car, and the prem-
ises in and about the same, shall be kept at all times in a clean and
sanitary condition .
.2 Access To Plumbinq Facilities. Any occupant of a trailer
coach or camp car shall have access to sanitary toilet and lavatory
facilities in a dwelling unit or other structure in or upon the
premises upon which the trailer coach or camp car is located, or prem-
ises adjacent thereto. No trailer coach or camp car shall be connected
to a sewer system.
Article 663
Enforcement
6631. DUTY OF ENFORCEMENT: RIGHT TO ENTER PREMISES. It is the
duty of the Building Inspection Division and Police Department to en-

force the provisions of this Chapter; and for the purpose of enforce-
ment, the Building Official or Police Chief or any of his duly author-
ized agents or employees, may enter upon premises occupied by any
trailer coach or camp car within this City for the purpose of making
inspections.
§ 6632 . MISDEMEANOR. Persons, firms, or corporations violating any
provision of this Chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor .
SECTION TWO: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published once in
the Redlands Daily Facts, the newspaper hereby designated for that
purpose.
SECTION THREE: Effective Date; This Ordinance shall take
effect and be in force after its passage as provided by law.
