RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION
PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY -
ANNEXATION N0. 52
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
1. That the Council of the City of Redlands, for the rea-
sons hereinafter mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own
motion, as soon as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex
to the City of Redlands all of the territory hereinafter de-
scribed, as uninhabited territory, under provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth
in Sections 35300 to 35325 of the Government Code of the State
of California.
2. That the Council's reasons for proposing to initiate
said annexation proceedings are as follows The annexation of
the hereinafter described territory will contribute to the or-
derly growth of the city, provide the proper control of street
layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design and insure the proper
use of land in conformity with the overall plan of the city.
3. That the territory which the Council proposes to annex
is hereby identified as "Annexation No. 52" and consists of all
that real property situate in the County of San Bernardino,
State of California, described in Exhibit A attached hereto and
shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit B.
4. That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby
directed to file with the Local Agency Formation Commission of
the County of San Bernardino, State of California, this reso-
lution that proceedings have been initiated to annex the here-
in above -described uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands,
to request a report by the Commission provided for in Section
35002 of the Government Code, and to submit and execute such
other applications and reports as may be required by law in such
annexation proceedings.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 21st day of September,
1976.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF ANNEXATION NO. 52
All that portion of Block 12 and Block 13 of Barton Ranch as
recorded in Book 6 of Maps, Page 19, in the office of the County
Recorder, County of San Bernardino, State of California, described
as follows
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Park Avenue
with the west line of the east 1/2 of said Block 12;
Thence northerly along said west line a distance of 450.25 feet
to the existing City limits of Redlands;
Thence easterly along said City limits to the center line of
Alabama Street;
Thence leaving said City limits southerly along said center line
to the south line of the north 1/2 of said Block 13;
Thence westerly along said south line to the west line of the
east 1/2 of said Block 13;
Thence northerly along said west line to the Point of Beginning.
