AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF REDLANDS ADOPTING DIVISION 8 TO TITLE 3 OF THE SAN
BERNARDINO COUNTY CODE UHICH ADDS PROVISIONS PERTAIN-
ING TO UNDERGROUND STORAGE OF HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ordains as
follows :
SECTION ONE: The herein designated Division 8 to Title 3
of the San Bernardino County Code which adds provisions per-
taining to Underground Storage of Hazardous Substances is
hereby adopted by reference and made a part hereof. Three
copies of said Code have been certified as true copies and
filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Redlands .
Division 8 to Title 3 of the San Bernardino County Code so
adopted by reference is made a part of this ordinance as though
set forth in full herein.
SECTION TWO: The Department of Environmental Health Ser-
vices of the County of San Bernardino , State of California, is
hereby designated as the responsible agency to implement this
ordinance .
SECTION THREE: This ordinance is an urgency ordinance for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety , and
shall take effect immediately upon adoption. The facts consti-
tuting the urgency include the enactment of Chapter 1046 of the
Statutes of 1983 by the California State Legislature, which con-
templates an ordinance in effect this calendar year for the local
control of facilities for the storage of hazardous substances and
wastes which are potential sources of contamination of the ground
and underlying aquifers .
SECTION FOUR: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Red-
lands Daily Facts , a newspaper of general circulation printed
and published in this city.
