AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 893 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ADOPTING A UNIFORM ELECTRICAL CODE, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEAjING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITHItt ADOPTED AUGUST 5TH, 1948, BY AMENDING SECTION FOUR THEREOF . The City Council of the City of Redlands do ordain as follows: SECTION ONE: That Ordinance No. 893, entitled: An Ordinance of the City of Redlands, Adopting a Uniform Electrical Code, Providing Penalties for the Violation Thereof and Repealing all Ordinances and Parts of Ordinances in Conflict Therewith, and Repealing Ordinances No. 670 and No. 795, 11 adopted August 5th, 1943, and in particular Section 7 of Section Four, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 7. Installation Requirements. A. In wood frame residential structures including dwellings, private garages, sheds and minor accessory buildings, any method of electrical wiring which is permitted by the National Electrical Code may be installed. B. All electrical wiring installed in or on buildings or structures other than those described in sub-section A hereof, and industrial buildings which are located outside of Fire Zone or District Number One (No. 1) p shall be installed in metal raceways of rigid conduit, electrical metallic tubing, under- floor raceways, cellular metal raceways, surface metal raceways, wive ways, bussways and auxiliary gutters; provided, however where unusual conditions exist flexible metal conduit may be used if special permission of the electrical inspector is obtained prior to the installation. C. The minimum requirements for all electrical work installed in or on buildings in Fire Zone or District Humber One (No. 1 ) , all industrial buildings, or within the masonry or concrete walls or floors of all other buildings wherever located, shall be the same as provided in subsection "B" hereof. D. All metal raceways Installed in masonry or concrete shall be approved for such installation. SECTION TWO: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided by law. SECTION THREE: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a daily newspaper hereby designated for that purpose.
