That the Redlands Ordinance Code L amended and updated by deleting ;e s t Article 842, Uniform Wiring Code of Chapter 84, Uniform Codes, and adding Arbil 842, Uniform rin Code, as fellows; Sx 4,y� it� BUILDING UNIFORM CODE 84200 ARTICLE 842 Uniform Wiring ode 84260 . That certain document on file in the office of the city Clem: of the city of Redlands, which is marked and designated as "Uniform Wiring Code, 1968 Edition"' , and each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terra of said Uniform Wiring Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part of this section:. That there are 'three copies of the above referred to document and code thereof now onfile in the office of the city Clerk. 84201 . That ARTICLE I , ADMINISTRATION, be amended b changing S-ection 10. 1 Electrical Safety Engineerto read a follows Sec. 10, 1. Electrical Safety Engineer-. There is hereby cheated the office of Electrical Safety Engineer. A used in this Section and, elsewhere in the Code the terra "Elec- trical Elec-tr cal- Safety Engineer" shall be and is the same as the "Direc- tor Dire -for of Building and Safety or his designated agent" 84202 . That ARTICLE I.I - PERMITS , be amended by a re- wording of Section 203.6, the deletion of Sections 20.7 and 2 .S, and the addition of a sentence to Section 20. 1 .. Sec;. 20. 6,. In lieu of an individual permit; for each installation or, alteration, an annual permit shall, upon application therefor, be issued to any person., firm or corporation regularly employing one; or more qualified electri- cians for the installation, alteration and maintenance of electrical equipment in or on buildings or premises owned o occupied by the applicant for the permit,. The application shall be in writing to the Electrical Safety Engineer, and shall: contain a description of the premises on which the work is to be done under the permit . The person, firm or corporation must be able to and shall in fact f:urnish inspection service which meets the requirements of the Electrical, Safety Engineer. In any instance where the inspection service rendered, by any per- son, firm or corporation as provided in this section is not in accordance with the: rules and regulations Mations of the Electrical: Safety Engineer, and with the requirements of the Uniform Wir- ing code, the. UILDING UNIFORM CODE 5420 Sec. 50. 9. Roof Flashings . All; electrical conduit passing through the roof of any i 'uil in, or structure shall be equipped with an approved aetal roof jack or metal flashing. Sec. 90. 1. Locations . An approved service entrance switch or circuit breaker shall be installed for each service meter installation.on n the load side of the meter- service switch or circuit breaker shall be located on the exterior of the building at the nearest safe and readily accessible paint to where the service conductors enter the building. Exception.: On buildings of a commercial or industrial type that are normally open during an average business day, the service switch, breaker, and/or meter may be installed within the building if meeting the resp ir:ementns of the serving utility. Sec. 140 . 3. Single Family Durellings, 800 Square Feet and, Over. (a) 800 square feet to and including 1750 square feet. Raceway - 11," size Conductors - 3 No. 2 AWG Circuit Breaker - 100 ampere Provision shall be made in, the branch circuit panel. for 100 ampere bussing and a minimum of sixteen (16) single pole, over-current protective devices, exclusive of "wafers" or "twin" type single pole circuit breakers,in addition to the main circuit breaker. (b) over 1750 square feet Raceway - 2" size Conductors - 3 No. 0 ATAIG Circuit Breaker - 1-50 ampere. Provision shall be made in the branch circti-it panel for 150 ampere bussing and a minimus of twenty (20') single pole over- p I current protective devices, exclusive of "wafers" or "twin" type single pole circuit breakers, in additlon to the main circuit breaker. Sec. 140.4. Sec. 140.0. Multi-family Dwelling.. Minimu service requirements for combined unit occupancy load shall be: Raceway and Conductors - 100 ampere capacity The minimum feeder or sib-feeder for each individual occupancy shall be: Raceway I" trade size Conductors - S No. 6 AWG Circuit Breaker - 50 ampere Sec. 1,40. 1.1. Service entrance equipment shall be completed for rough inspection, all conductors shall be insulated and installed, and -the: spade conduits stubbed as required by Section 140.4. 84207 . That ARTICLE XV -° WIRING METHODS be amended by deleting Sections 1,50 . 11. and. 150 . 1.2 . 84208. That ARTICLE XVI - A14TERATIONS AND ADDITIONS S be amended by adding sentence to Section 60. 2 reading as fol- lows: In addition, an existing circuit installed under previous codes, and considered to be in satisfactory condition by the Electrical Safety Engineer, may be extended if loading and grounding conditions s are adequate for the use intended. " 84209. That ARTICLE XVII - BRANCH CIRCUIT REQUIREMENTS be amended by adding a sentence to Section 170. and deleting Section 170. 15. Sergi'. 1,70.3 .. That ARTICLE XVIII - LOW 'VOLTAGE REEMOTE CONTROL WIRING SYSTEMS be amended by rewording Section 150. 1. i BUILDING UNIFORM CODE 84210 Sed. 180.1 . In exposed locations the low voltagewires shall be installed in rigid metal conduit, electric metallic -tubing or other approved wiring systems . All transformers use(:3 in, conjunction with residential low voltage systems shall be constructed with a grounded shield to prevent primary voltage short to the low voltage side, 84211. For the supply f current to gen- eral i n--e l appliance and convenience outlet circuits, no conductor, smaller than No. 12 AWG wire shall be installed. No convenience cutlet or appliance shall be installed or operated on a general lighting branch circuit at any time in any occupancy, except as provided in Sections 1A7 .4, 170.-1"7 and -170. 19. 84212. That ARTICLES XXI and XXTI - DEMAND FACTORS b amended by adding Section 220. 5 as follows ;pec. 220.5. A dryer raceway for single family occupancies shall be stubbed into the attic ; under floor or as approved by the Electrical Safety Engineer from a, 4 S box at the dryer location. 84213 . That ARTICLE XXV -° SWIMMING POOLS be amended by adding sentence to paragraph a:, of Section 250.6 to read as follows: "All bonding and grounding ing shall be inspected and: approved before being covered. " 84214. That ARTICLE XXVII -- MOBILE HOMES AND MOBILE HOME FADES is added to said Code and reads as follows: ARTICLE XXVII - MOBILE HOMES AND MOBILE T-40ME PARKS Sec. 270. 1. The Division of Housing, State of California, has promulgated and is the enforcement agency for rules and regulations applicable to all. electrical wiring, fixtures and erquipment installed in a mobile home park. 84215. That ARTICLE XXX - PENALTIES LII S be ata ended b addition of Section 360..1 reading as follows: Sec. 360. 1 . Where work to which a p rm.it is required by this Code is started or conmi ;aced without obtaining BUILDING UNIFORM CODE § 84215 a permit, the total fees as herein specified shall be doubled, provided, however, any penalty shall not be less than $10 . 00 nor emceed $200.00. The payment of such double fee or maximum penalty shall not relieve any person from either fully comply- ing with the requi-rements of this Code in the execution of 'th word or from any other penalties prescribed herein. :n. 84216. That ARTICLE XXXX - BOARD OF APPEALS is added with a Section 400. 1 Board of Appeals, reading as follows Sec. 400. 1 . Board of appeals. The Board of Appeals and the procedures concerning its operation as stated in ARTICLE 40, Uniform Building Code, shall also apply to all appeals resulting from the administration of this Code-. 84217 . The word "City"" in the aforesaid sections and Cade shall be deemed to refer to and designate the City of Redlands and any reference to any act or, any legislative enact- ment therein rereferred to shall be deemed to designate and: embrace the statutes of the State of California., and amendments thereof, dealing with the subject matter thereby and therein referred to.
