AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1000 OF THE CITY
OF REDLANDS BY ADOPTING AMENDMENT NO. 115 THERETO
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN:
Section One: That Zoning Ordinance No, 1000 of the City of
Redlands, Section 43 . 20 (a) , Permitted Fences and Walls;, be hereby
amended as follows:
Section 43 . 20; REGULATIONS OF LOCATION AND HEIGHT
(a) Permitted Fences and Wallsa
1, Open fences not to exceed four (4) feet in height shall
be permitted within a required front yard area. For
purposes of this section an open fence shall mean those
types that are composed of wire mesh capable of admitting,;
at least 90 per cent light.
2 . Fences and walls not to exceed six (6) feet in height
shall be permitted along side and rear property lines
except that no fence or wall exceeding three (3) feet in
height shall be located within any required front yard
area,
3 . Open fences as defined in paragraph 1 of this section that
are over six (6) feet in height may be located in the rear
half of the lot subject to a commission finding that such
a fence will not constitute a nuisance to abutting property
owners.
4 . No fence or wall and no landscaping which obstructs
visibility shall be permitted within the corner cut-off
areas defined in Section 43 .1.0.
5. EXCEPTION: In the R-F1 District a fence or wall up to six
(6) feet in height may be located in the side yard of a
corner lot (except a reversed corner lot) not closer than
ten (10) feet from the side property line abutting the
street; provided, however, that such fence or wall shall
not extend beyond the front projection of the main build-
ing nor into any corner cut-off area. For a reversed
corner lot the fence shall be set back not less than fifteen
(15) feet subject to the above conditions. All exceptions
shall be referred to the planning department for adminis-
trative approval or reference to the Planning Commission
in unusual circumstances.
Section Two: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect
as provided by law.
Section Three! The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Redlands
Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation printed and pub-
lished in the City of Redlands.
