HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_1573_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 1573 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1000 OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN: Section One : That Zoning Ordinance No. 1000 of the City of Redlands, Section 12 .00 A-1 Agricultural District, be hereby amended as follows : SECTION 12 .00 : A-1 AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT The purpose of the agricultural zone is to provide for the proper utilization of those lands best suited for agricultural purposes and to prevent the encroachment of incompatible uses . The following regulations shall apply to all land in the A-1 Agriculture District. Section 12.10 : USES PERMITTED No building, structure or land shall be used, and no building or structure shall be hereafter erected, structurally altered or enlarged, except for the following purposes : A . PRINCIPAL PERMITTED USES 1. Apiaries, provided that no hives or boxes housing bees are kept closer than three hundred (300) feet from any dwelling other than that occupied by the owner of the apiary. 2 . Farms or ranches for the grazing, breeding or raising of not more than two (2) horses, cattle, goats, or sheep per acre. Except for the keeping of up to three horses as provided for in Section 17 .10 of the R-1 zone, no animal (s) shall be housed or corraled closer than 500 feet from any R-1, R-1-D, R-2, R-2-2000 or R-3 zone. 3 . Orchards, groves, nurseries, the raising of field crops, tree crops, berry crops, bush crops, truck gardening and commercial flower growing. 4 . Single family residences, provided, however, that there shall be not more than two (2) dwellings on each parcel of five (5) acres or more. here parcels of land are already subdivided into parcels less than five (5) acres in area, there shall be permitted one (1) dwelling for each lot, provided said lot contains dimensions and an area equiva- lent to the cosest single family residential zone. B . SIMILAR USES PERMITTED BY COMMISSION DETERMINATION The commission may, by resolution of record, permit any other uses which it may determine to be similar to those listed above, in conformity with the intent and purpose of this zone, and not more obnoxious or detrimental to the public health, safety and welfare, or other uses permitted in this zone. C. USES PERMITTED BY CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT 1. Aviaries and hatcheries. 2 . Dairies, including the processing of milk. 3 . Farms or ranches for commercial raising of poultry or rabbits . No more than 500 poultry or rabbits for each twenty (20) thousand square feet of lot area; provided, however, that said rabbits or fowl be kept at least fifty (50) feet from any property line and five hundred feet from any residential zone, church, school, park, or hospital. 4. Grange halls and similar uses incidental to the promotion and development of sound agriculture. 5 . Riding stables or academies, provided that the minimum lot size for such use shall be not less than five (5) acres and that all buildings for the housing, feeding or :rental of such animals shall be at least one hundred (100) feet from any property .line and five hundred (500) feet from any R-S or R-1 zone, church, school, park, or hospital. Section Two: This ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure in accordance with the provisions of the Government Code of the State of California, Section 65858. Section Three: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
