HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_2160_CCv0001.pdf ORDINANCE NO. 2160 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING CHAPTER 15.36 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT NO. 212 RELATING TO MOTEL SIGNS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE: That the City of Redlands Municipal Code shall be amended by adding Section 15. 36. 576 as follows: SECTION 15.36. 576 MOTEL SIGNS Motels are a form of commerce which rely on the business of the traveling public . The traveling public resides at motels based upon the room rate information incorporated into the identifi- cation sign. A. Room Rates. One room rate may be incorporated into one identification sign for the site. The room rate shall be incorporated into the design of the sign so as to be a unified element with colors and features which are integrated. B. Sign Area. Total sign area shall be determined and main- tained within the provisions of the respective zone classification. Sign area related to room rates shall not exceed 20% of the sign on which it is located . C. Height . The height of a freeway oriented freestanding sign shall conform with the provisions of Section 15.36. 460 (A) . SECTION TWO: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided by law.
