AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING CHAPTERS
18.108 AND 18.116 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
ELECTRIC GENERATION USES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2.66.020 of the Redlands Municipal Code relating to the maximum
height of buildings in the M-1 zone is hereby amended to read as follows:
"18.108.100 Building Height.
Building and structures in the M-1 zone shall not exceed 50 feet in height; provided,
however, that non-nuclear electric generating stations shall not exceed 100 feet in height, and
appurtent cooling towers and emission stacks for non-nuclear electric generating stations shall not
exceed 225 feet in height."
Section 2. Section 18.116.110 of the Redlands Municipal Code relating to noise control
is amended to read as follows:
"18.116.110 Noise Control.
In the M-2 zone,no use shall be conducted in a manner which produces noise exceeding 60
CNEL (Community Noise Equivalent Level) when measured at the property line of any property
used for residential, hospital, school or park use."
Section 3. Section 18.116.030 of the Redlands Municipal code relating to the M-2
(General Industrial) District be amended by adding subsection M to read as follows:
"M. Electrical distribution substations, electrical transmission substations, non-nuclear
electric generating stations,and public utility buildings,office,and service yards,and steam electric
generating stations."
Section 4. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a summary of it, to be published once in the

Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, and thereafter, this
ordinance shall take effect in accordance with law.
