CITY OF REDLANDS TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEXCERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY - ANNEXATION NO. 48 BE IT RESOLVED Y THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS.: 1 That the. Council of the City of Redlands, for the reasons hereinafter mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands all of the territory hereinafter described, ap uninhabited territory, under provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in Sections 35300 to 35325 of the Government Code of of\ the StateCalifornia. 2. That the Council°s reasons for proposing to initiate said annexation proceedings are as follows The annexation of the herein- after described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the city, provide the proper control of street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the overall plan of the city. 3. That the territory which the Council proposes to annex is here- by identified as "Annexation No. 48" and consists of all that real property situate in, the County of San Bernardino, State of California, described on Exhibit A attached hereto and shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit B. 4. That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to file with the Local Agency. Formation Commission of the County of San Bernardino, State of California, this proposal to initiate proceedings' to annex the hereinabove described uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands, and to request a report by the Commission provided for in Section 35002 of the Government Code, ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 5th day of July, 1972. yor of the City of Re ands ATTEST EXHIBIT A For Annexation No. 48 - City of Redlands That portion of the West half of Lot 21, ;arton Ranch, as recorded in Book 6 of Maps, page 19 in the office of the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino, State of California, des- cribed as follows Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Kansas Street with the centerline of Park Avenue; thence Easterly along the centerline of Park Avenue, said centerline of Park Avenue also being the existing boundary line of the City of Redlands, to its intersection with the Northerly prolongation of the East line of the West half of said Lot 21; thence Southerly along said Northerly prolongation and said East line, said Northerly prolon- gation and said East line also being the existing boundary line of the City of Redlands, to its intersection with a line parallel with and 340 feet North of the centerline of State Street; thence Westerly along said parallel line, said parallel line also being the existing boundary line of the City of Redlands, to its inter- section with the centerline of Kansas Street; thence Northerly along said centerline of Kansas Street to the point of beginning.
