RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF REDLANDS SUPPORTING PROPOSED INDUSTRIAL
DEVELOPMENT ON MARIGOLD FARMS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands
has established a policy of encouraging and supporting the
proper industrial -economic development of the Community,
whereby the people of this City prosper by an increased tax
base, added employment opportunities and additional capital
investment, and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands, in order to foster
economic stability and growth, is committed to actively pro-
moting and encouraging industrial development, and
WHEREAS, the Fantus Company of Chicago, Illinois
acting as duly appointed agents for a nationally known elec-
tronics assembly firm, is considering this City as a potential
site for the location of said industry, initially employing
1300 persons with an anticipated work force of 5000 and re-
quiring a plant of 300,000 square feet on approximately 100
acres.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council
acting in the interest of the people of Redlands, demonstrate
its strong desire to assist said industry in locating in this
City by expressing its willingness, in cooperation with tree
County of San Bernardino, to improve access roads from the
Interstate 10 Freeway to the proposed site on Marigold Farms;
and, to provide for the installation of municipal water and
sewer lines to the boundary of the site as required; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Redlands is
desirous of discussing the requirements for other improvements,
requested.
ADOPTED., SIGNED AND APPROVED this seventh day of
February, 1966.
