AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1000 OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS BY ADOPTING
A1,521MIENT NO. 39 THERETO.
The City Couneil of the City of Redlands does ordain as follows.-
SECTION ONE: That Zoning Ordinance No. 1000 of the City of Redlands, be and
is hereby amended by adopting Amendment No. 39 which amends Section 52.00, Subsection
52.10 as follows:
SECTION 52.10 - ADDITIONAL USES PEWITTED
(0) Conditional Use Permits may be issued for the following types of
uses subjeot to specific conditions recom-n-aended by the PlaxLning
Comnission, and approved by the City Council.
1. SPECIAL USES
Those uses that are important to the growth and
development of the community but which cannot be
identified with any particular zone. This would
include but not, be limited to
Churches Pr-L-,,-ate Schools
Hospitals Helipor-t„
2. USES INDICATED ON THE GENERAL PIAN
Those facilities and services that are indi(,,ated
in general. locations on the long-term --ompre-
hensiire General Plan for the city. This would
include:
Industrial. parks, shopping centers,
public facilities,
3. TRANSITIONAL USES
Those uses that would permit an orderly bridge
between more intensive and less intensive uses
at a zone boundary, when such boundary is at a
street or other public way. This would include2
A. Adjacent to commercial areas (either
immediately abutting or across the street
from) excepting shopping centers:
Administrative and professional offices,
offstreet parking, motels or hotels
(no retail sales, restaurants or other
commercial uses permitted) .
B. Adjacent to industrial areas:
Restaurants., offstreet parking, motels,
commercial recreation.
4. PROBLEM AREAS
A. In those areas that are so located that
their relationship to other uses of land,
to topographical features of where existing
land subdiv-Lsion patterns make it imprac-
tical for the land to be used for the
zoned purposes, and where one particular
use would be reasonable and desirable., the
Commission may determine such a use to be
reasonable and recommend the granting of a
Conditional Use Permit.
B. In areas adjoining freeway interchanges,
the Commission, may recommend and the Council
may approve a Conditional Use Permit for
the following uses which are required for
highway servixe., safety, and rest-
Gasoline ser,,rice stations., restaurants.,
motels, and such other uses as the
Commission may determine will render a
sere-1ce to the inter-aity tra%reler.
SECTION TWO: Before adopting this Ordinance, the City Council held a public hearing,
notice of which was published in the City of Redlands on the lqtk__
day of January
1963, l days before the hearing.
SECTION THREE: This ordinance shall be in force and take effect as provided by law.
SECTION FOUR: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and
cause the same to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a
newspaper of general. circulation printed and published in this City.
