HomeMy WebLinkAbout2766_CCv0002.pdf RESOLUTION NO, 2766 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF obi.DLANDS PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF COSTS RESULTING FROM 001!' ABATEMENT OF WBEDS WHICH CONSTITUTE A FIRE aAZIRD THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE THAT: WHEREAS , Chapter 58. Abatement of Weeds and Rubbish, of t&_% Redlands ordinance Code, adopted by City of Redlands Ordinance No . 1371, requires that material constituting a fire hazard be declared to be a public nuisance and be removed, and the Code further provides that if an owner shall fail to remove or abate the material deter- mined to be a public nuisance. the Fire Chief or his authorizedrep- resentative shall cause such nuisance toe abated, with costs to be assessed against the property; and WEEREAS , the Fire Department of the City 6.f Redlands, the agency responsible for administration of Chapter 58 of the Redlands ordi- nance Codc,did notify the owners of record of said properties in com- pliance with Section 58105 of said Code, that such material had been determined to be a public nuisance and abatement was necessary; and WEEREAS , the owners of record as shown on the last available assessment roll failed to take action to abate the nuisances on their properties as itemized in: Exhibit A, attached hereto and. WEEREAS , the Fire Department did order the abanement work done by private contractor can submitted a demand for payment, in aidition to a service charge of JI0 . 00 to each owner of property, by mail, these accounts ren maiing unreimbursed; and WHEREAS , the City Council has considered the reports and accounts, as itemized in Exhibit A, tog etger lwith any objections or protests by interested parties, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Redlands approves the re- ports and accounts as submitted in Exhibit A; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED; That the City Clerk will advise the Auditor, San Bernardino County, who will record the assessments, and the Assessor, San Bernardino County, who will enter the assessments on the tax roll against the properties as itemized in Exhibit A.
