HomeMy WebLinkAbout3191_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO, 3191 A RESOLUTION OF THE C= COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED ANDS PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF COSTS RESULTING FROM THE ABATEMENT OF WEEDS WHICH C'ONSTIT- TE A FIRE FMZARD THE CITY COUNC-TL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES HEREBY RES OLIVE THAT WHEREAS, Chapter 58, Abatement of Weeds and Rubbish, of the Redlands Ordinance Code, adopted by City of Redlands Ordinance No. 1371, requIres that material constitutinq a fire hazard be de-clared to be a public nuisance and be removed, and the Code further pro- v ides that if an ow-nel- shall fail to remove or abate the material determined to be a p_UtJic nuisance, the Fire Chief or his authorized representat-i've shall cause such nuisance to be abated, with costs to be assessed against the property,- and WHEREAS, the Fire Department of the City of Redlands, the agency responsible for administration of Chapter 58 of the Redlands Ordi nance Code, did notify the owners of record of said properties in compliance with Section 58105 of said Code, that such material had been determined to be a public nuisance and abatement was necessary; and WHEREAS, the owners of record as shown on the last available assessment rail failed to take action to abate the nuisances on their properties as itemized in-, Exhibit A, attached hereto and WHEREAS, the Fire DepartmenT_ did order the abatement work done by private contractor and submitted a demand for payment, in add . - tionto a service charge of $10.00, to each owner of property, by mail, these accounts remaining unreimbursed; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the reports and accounts, as itemized J'_n E- Chlbit A, together with any objections or protests by interested parties, TOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of Redlands approves the reports and accounts as submitted in Exhibit A; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Clerk will advise the Auditor, San Bernardino County, who will record the assessments, and the Assessor, San Bernardino county, who w-111 enter the assessments on the tax roll against the properties " terq as ized in Exhibit A.
