A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS REMOVING PROPERTY FROM AN AGRICULTURAL
PRESERVE DESIGNATION
WHEREAS, the County of San Bernardino has established an agricultural
preserve; and
WHEREAS, State law provides that property located in unincorporated territory
of a county and having an agricultural preserve status shall continue to retain such
status following annexation of that property into a city; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands, by resolution, has
established criteria for the removal of property from an agricultural preserve; and
WHEREAS, in connection with an application to annex certain real property
designated as County of San Bernardino Assessor's Parcel Nos. 0297-121-10 and 11
to the City,the owner of such property has made application to the City to remove the
property from agricultural preserve status;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Redlands as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby finds that the
applicant and owner of the property designated as County of San Bernardino
Assessor's Parcel Nos. 0297-121-10 and 11 has filed an application for development
of the property in conformity with Redlands' General Plan;that the property requested
to be removed from the agricultural preserve status does not circumvent any contract
entered into pursuant to the California Land Conservation Act of 1965; that the
removal of the property will not adversely impact the City's goal of discouraging
premature and unnecessary conversion of agricultural land to urban uses, and that
removal of agricultural preserve status will not encourage discontinuous urban
development patterns that unnecessarily increase the costs of community services to
Redlands' citizens.
Section 2. County of San Bernardino Assessor's Parcel Nos. 0297-121-10
and 11 shall be removed from agricultural preserve status effective upon the
annexation of such property to the City.
