No work which may be defective in its construction or defleient in ary of the requirements of these specifications shall be conaidered as accepted in consequence of the failure of any of the officers of the city or of the inspector connected with the work in pointing out the said defects of deficiencies during construction, and the contractor shall be required to correct any imperfect work whenever discovered 'before the final acceptance of the work. 4. Bidders must exarr ine and judge for themselves as to the location of the proposed work, the nature of the excavations to be made and the work to be done. The right is reserved to owners of public utilitie$ and franchises to enter upon the street for the purpose of making repatts or changes in their property that may be made neeeasary by the work. The city shall also have the privilege of entering upon the street for, the purpose of repatring sewers, or making house drain connections therewith, or repairing culverts or storm drains. 8. The contractor sh411 notify the street superintendent when he desires the final inspection of the work, when the lat- ter will, as soon as possible, rr.ake the necessary examination and if the work is found to be in cor,Ipli�jjjce witj_ the contract of such oon-- tractor, the street superintendent will furnish the contractor with a certificate to that effect. 9. Whenever the work "contractor" is used in these spe- cifications it refers to the 1)urt;i or parties of the second part in the ag-geement for the construction of the m rk herein specified. Whenever the works "street superintendent's or "City 'Engineer" are used in these specifications they refer respectively to the street superintendent and the city engineer of the City of , , .
