HomeMy WebLinkAbout2328_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 2328 RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS , 1. That the Council of the City of Redlands , for the reasons here- inafter mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands all of the territory hereinafter described, as uninhabited territory, under provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in Sections 35300 to 35325 , of the Government Code of the State of California. 2. That the Council ' s reasons for proposing to initiate said annexa- tion proceedings are as follows : The annexation of the hereinafter des- cribed territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the city, pro- vide the proper control of street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the overall plan of the city. 3. That the territory which the Council proposes to annex is here- by identified as "Annexation 17" and consists of all that real property situate in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, described as follows : Beginning at a point in the boundary of the City of Redlands , said point being the intersection of the centerline of Tennessee Street, 80 feet wide, and the easterly prolongation of the south line of the north half of the northeast quarter of Block 22, Barton Ranch as per plat recorded in Book 6 of Maps , Page 19, records of San Bernardino County ; Thence westerly along said prolongation and south line of the north half of the said northeast quarter to the intersection with the west line of the east half of said Block 22 ; Thence southerly along the west line of the east half of Block 22 to the intersection of the said line with the centerline of Orange Avenue, 50 feet wide ; thence easterly along the center- line of Orange Avenue to its point of intersection with the centerline of Tennessee Street ; thence northerly along the centerline of Tennessee Street to the point of beginning. 4. That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to file with the Boundary Commission of the County of San Bernardino, State of California, this proposal to initiate proceedings to annex the hereinabove described uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands , and to request a report by the Commission as provided for in Section 35002 of the Government Code , ADOPTED THIS lst DAY OF October, 1963 by the following vote : AYES : Councilmen Martinez , Wagner, Hartzell ; Mayor Parker NOES: Hone ABSENT: Councilman Burroughs ity Clerk Signed and approved this 1st day of October, 1 63.
