A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION
PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY -
ANNEXATION NO. 55
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS :
1. That the City Council of the City of Redlands, for the reasons
hereinafter mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon
as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands
all of the territory hereinafter described, as uninhabited territory,
under provisions of the Municipal Organization Act of January 1, 1978
as set forth in Sections 35300 to 35325 of the Government Code of the
State of California.
2. That the City Council' s reasons for proposing to initiate said
annexation proceedings are as follows : The annexation of the herein-
after described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the
city, provide the proper control of street layout, drainage, sanitary
sewer design and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the
overall plan of the city.
3 . That the territory which the City Council proposes to annex is
hereby identified as "Annexation No. 55" and consists of all that real
property situated in the County of San Bernardino, State of California,
described as follows :
Lots 3, 4, and 5, resubdivision of Lots 1-6, Block 1, Judson ' s
Subdivision of Lot 39, Block 77, Rancho San Bernardino, Map
Book 17, Page 27, San Bernardino County, California
and as shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit A .
4. That the City clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed
to file with the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of San
Bernardino, State of California, this resolution that proceedings have
been initiated to annex the herein above-described uninhabited territory
to the City of Redlands, to request a report by the Commission provided
for in Section 35002 of the Government Code, and to submit and execute
such other applications and reports as may be required by law in such
annexation proceedings.
5. That the City Council of the City of Redlands further requires
that applicant reimburse the City for costs of preparation, staff time,
advertising, and miscellaneous expenses connected with this annexation,
as determined by the City, prior to final Council action.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 1st day of August, 1978.
