HomeMy WebLinkAbout2258_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION Na. 225$ RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY, HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED AND DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION NO. 13" TO THE CITY OF REDLANDS AND AUTHORIZ- ING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE SUCH PROPOSAL WITH, AND SUBMIT SUCH PROPOSAL TO THE BOUNDARY COMMISSION OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, FOR A REPORT THEREON AS REQUIRED BY LAW. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redlands: SECTION 1. That the Council of the City of Redlands, for the reasons hereinafter mentioned, desires, intends and proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands all of the territory hereinafter described, as uninhabited territory, under and by virtue and in accordance and in compliance with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in Section 35002 - 35318, inclusive, of the Government Code of the State of California. SECTION 2. That the said Council's reasons for proposing to initiate said annexAtion proceedings as aforesaid are as follows: That the annexation of the here- inafter described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the city, provide the proper control of street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design, water system design and the proper land use in conformity with the overall zoning plan of said city. SECTION 3. That said territory, which said Council proposed to annex as aforesaid, is hereby described and identified as "Annexation No. 1311, and said territory includes, consists of, and is further described as all that real property situated in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at the northeasterly corner of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter, Section 21, Township 1 South, Range 3 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, being a point in the west boundary of the City of Redlands; thence southerly along said west boundary to an intersection with the centerline of Colton Avenue as said avenue is shown on the Map of Barton Ranch recorded in Book 6 of Maps, Page 19 thereof, Records of San Bernardino County; thence westerly along the centerline of said Colton Avenue to an intersection with the centerline of Kansas Street as said street is shown on the Map of Barton Ranch; thence southerly along the centerline of Kansas Street to an intersection with the northeasterly right-of-way line of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, a right-of-way 100 feet in width; thence southeasterly along said right-of-way line to an intersection with the center- line of Tennessee Street as said street is shown on the Map of Barton Ranch; thence southerly along the centerline of Tennessee Street to a point which is 86.11 feet southerly of the southerly line of'Redlands Boulevard, formerly State Route No. 26; thence at right angles to said centerline westerly to the westerly line of Tennessee Street; thence north 710 47' west 350 feet; thence southerl� 100 feet parallel with the westerly line of Tennessee Street; thence north 71 47' west to a point in the westerly line of the southeast quarter of Block 20, Barton Ranch; thence southerly along said westerly line to an intersection with the centerline of Park Avenue as said avenue is shown on the Map of Barton Ranch; thence westerly along the centerline of Park Avenue to an intersection with the center- line of Kansas Street; thence northerly along the centerline of Kansas Street to an intersection with the northerly line of the southwest quarter, Block 20, Barton Ranch; thence easterly along said northerly line to the northeasterly corner of the southwest quarter, Block 20, Barton Ranch; thence northerly along the easterly Tine- of the northwest quarter, Block 20, Barton Ranch to the centerline of superseded State Route No. 26 relinquished to the County of San Bernardino, as recorded in Book 5 of State Highway Maps, Pages 40 to 50 thereof, Records of San Bernardino County; thence northwesterly and westerly along said centerline of superseded State Route No. 26 to an intersection with the southerly prolongation of the westerly line of Lot 9, Block 1, Henry L. Williams Tract, recorded in Book 11 of .Maps, Page 17 thereof, Records of San Bernardino County; thence northerly along the westerly line of Lot 9, Lot 8 and Lot 1, Block 1, Henry L. Williams Tract and prolongations thereof to an intersection with the westerly prolonga- tion of the northerly line of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter, Section 21, T1S, R3W, S.B.B. & M.; thence easterly along said northerly line and the westerly prolongation thereof to the point of beginning. SECTION 4,, That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby authorized and directed to file with, and submit to the Boundary Commission of the County of San Bernardino, State of California, on behalf of the Council of the City of Redlands and in accordance with,, and for a report thereon by said Commission in accordance with the provisions of Section 35002 of the Governmane Code of the State of California, the said proposal of the Council of the City of Redlands to initiate on its own motion said proceedings to annex the hereinabove described uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands.
