RESOLUTION NO. 2364
RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF REDLANDS TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 2011 , AND
GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS :
SECTION ONE: That , pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" , proceedings have been initiated
by the Council of the City of Redlands , on its own motion, to annex
to the City of Redlands all that uninhabited territory situated in the
County of San Bernardino , State of California, hereby designated as
"Annexation District No. 2011 and described as follows :
The West Y2 of Government Lot 10, Section 12 , Township 2 South
Range 3 West , San Bernardino, Base and Meridian, in the County
of San Bernardino , State of California, according to the offi-
cial plat of said land filed June 9 , 1880, in the office of the
Bureau of Land Management . EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion
commencing on the Southeast corner of said West Y2 of Govern-
ment Lot 10 ; thence along the East line of the West Y2 North
315 feet ; thence West parallel with the South line of said lot
300 feet ; thence North parallel to the East line of the West Y2
of said Lot 10, 285 feet ; thence West parallel to the South
line of said lot 338 feet , more or less, to a point in the West
line of said Lot ; thence South along said West line 600 feet to
the Southwest corner of said Lot ; thence East along South line
to the point of beginning. Approximately 13 .17 acres .
SECTION TWO : That the City Council of the City of Redlands desires
to Annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands for the
following reasons : The territory is contiguous to the City of Redlands
and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the
orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory
proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and contribute to the proper
and orderly layout, design and construction of streets , gutters , side-
walks , sanitary and storm water sewers and drainage facilitjes , both
within the City and within the territory proposed to be annexed ; and
will provide and facilitate proper overall planning and zoning of
lands , and subdivision of lands in said City and said uninhabited
territory, in a manner most conducive to the welfare of said City and
said uninhabited territory.
SECTION THREE, That a written petition for annexation, signed by
all property owners within the territory proposed to be annexed, is on
file in the office of the City Clerk.
SECTION FOUR: That the County Boundary Commission of San Bernardino
County, California, did in session duly assembled on February 6, 1964 ,
approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Annexation No. 2011
as above described and that it was approved by the Local Agency Forma-
tion Commission at a regular meeting thereof held March 16, 1964, as
submitted to said Commissions by the Council of the City of Redlands.
SECTION FIVE- That April 21, 1964, at the hour of 7x00 P.M- in
the Council Chambers in the Safety Hall , 212 Brookside Avenue , in the
City of Redlands , County of San Bernardino , California, is hereby
fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real pro-
perty within the City of Redlands who does not also own property within
the territory to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed
annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of Redlands and
show cause why sVch uninhabited territory should not be annexed to said
City of Redlands .
SECTION SIX- The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby
authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be pub-
lished at least once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of
general circulation published in said City of Redlands , the city to
which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, said publica-
tion to complete at least four (4) days prior to the date set for
hearing.
SECTION SEVEN: In the event there is , upon the land proposed to
be annexed a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased
by a county fire protection district , the said Clerk is directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the
governing body of such district , such notice to be sent not less than
ten (10) days before the first public hearing upon such proposed
annexation.
SECTION EIGHT. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice
to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto ,
in the manner required by law.
