r RESOLUTION NO. 2421 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 24" , AND GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ; SECTION ONE ; That , pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" , proceedings have been initiated by the Council, of the City of Redlands , on its own motion, to annex to the City of Redlands all that uninhabited territory situated in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, hereby designated as "Annexation District No. 2411 and described as follows -, All that portion of Block 19 and Block 20 in the West 1/2 , Township 1 South, Range 3 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, as shown on the Map of Barton Ranch, recorded in Book 6 of Maps , Page 19 thereof, Records of San Bernardino County, State of California and described in whole as follows ; Beginning in the Southeasterly corner of the northwest quarter of said Bloch 20, said point being on the westerly boundary of the City of Redlands . Thence northerly along the easterly line of said northwest quarter of block 20 to its intersection with centerline of superseded State Route No. 26, relinquished to the county of San Bernardino, as recorded in Book 5 of State Highway Maps , Pages 40 to 50 thereof, Records of San Bernardino County; Thence northwesterly and westerly along said centerline of said superseded State Route No. 26 to its intersection with northerly prolongation of a line 110 feet distant , (measured along the centerline of said superseded State Route No, 26) , from the centerline of 80 foot wide Kansas Street ; Thence southerly, along the line parallel to and 110 feet distant from the centerline of Kansas Street, (measured parallel to the centerline of superseded State Route No. 26) , to a point 200 feet southerly from the southerly right of way of said State Route No. 264 Thence westerly, and parallel to the north line of the southeast quarter of said Block 19, to a point 330.15 feet distant from the centerline of 80 foot wade Kansas Street. Thence southerly, parallel to and 330. 15 feet distant from the said centerline of Kansas Street to a point on the north line of the southeast quarter of said Block 19, Thence , easterly along the northline of the southeast quarter of said Block 19 to the centerline of 80 foot gide Kansas Street , thence continuing easterly along the northline of southwest quarter of said Block 20 to the northeast corner thereof and the point of beginning, SECTION TWO -, That the City Council of the City of Redlands desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands for the following reasons < The territory is contiguous to the City of Redlands and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed ; will facilitate and contribute to the proper and orderly layout , design and construction of streets , gutters, sidewalks , sanitary and storm water sewers and drainage facilities , both within the City and within the territory proposed to be annexed ; and will provide and facilitate ptoper overall planning and zoning of lands, and subdivision of lands in said City and said uninhabited territory, in a manner most conducive to the welfare of said City and said uninhabited territory, SECTION THREE: That a written petition for annexation, signed by all property owners within the territory proposed to be annexed, is on file in the office of the City Clerk. SECTION FOUR- That the County Boundary Commission of San Bernar- dino County, California, did in session duly assembled on November 254 1964, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Annexation No . 2411 as above described and that it was approved by the Local Agency Formation Commission at a regular meeting thereof held Dec. 16, 1964, as submitted to said Commissions by the Council of the City of Redlands© SECTION FIVE: That January 19, 1965, at the hour of 7300 P.M inthe Council Chambers in the Safety Hall, 212 Brookside Avenue, in the City of Redlands, County of San Bernardino, CAlifornia, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the City of Redlands who does not also own property within the territory to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of Redlands and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be annexed to said City of Redlands. SECTION SIX : The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be pub- lished at least once in the Redlands Daily Facts , a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Redlands , the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, said publi- cation to complete at least four (4) days prior to the date set for hearing. SECTION SEVEN: In the event there is , upon the land proposed to be annexed a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire protection district , the said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such district, such notice to be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing upon such proposed annexation.
