HomeMy WebLinkAbout2267_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 2267 RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO AN= CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY, HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED AND DESIGMA.TED AS "ANNEXATION NO. 1411 TO THE CITY OF REDL-'a4'DS AND AUTHORIZ-1NG AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE SUCH PROPOSAL IWITH, AND SUBMIT SUCH PROPOSAL TO THE BOUNDARY COM1-!IS8ION OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BER11ARDINO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA,, FOR A REPORT THEREON AS REQUIRED BY LAW. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redlands: SECTION 1. That the Council of the City of Redlands intends and proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands an of the territory hereinafter described., as un- inhabited territory, under and by virtue and in accordance and in compliance with the Provisions of the Annexation of Unix-ihabited Territory Act of 1939 as provided in Title 4, Division 2 of the Government Code of the State of California. SECTION 2. That the Council's reasons for proposing to initiate such annexation proceedings are, as follows: That the annexation of the hereinafter described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the city, provide the proper control of street layout, drainage., sanitary sewer design, water system design and the proper land use in conformity with the over-all zoning plan of said city. SECTION 3. That the territory, which said Council proposes to annex, is hereby designated "Annexation No. 1A.11, and includes all. that real property situated in the County of San Bernardino., State of California., described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the southerly line of Mill. Street,, a street of 82.5 foot, width, and the easterly line of California Street a street of 82.5 foot width., as shown on Record of Survey recorded in Book 17, Page 41, records of said County; thence westerly along the prolongation, of the southerly line of Mill Street to a point 200 feet, measured at right angles, westerly of the west line of said California Street,,, thence southerly parallel with the west line of California Street to the northerly line of Lot 70., Orange Grove Homestead, as recorded in Book 2 of Maps, Page 5 thereof., records of said County; thence westerly along the northerly Lines of Lots 70, 69, 68, 67, 64, 65, 66, and 54, Orange Grove Homestead to the northwesterly corner of sa-ld Lot 54-, thence southerly along the westerly - lines of Lots 54) 47, and 34, Orange Grove Homestead, and prolongation thereof to the center- line of 76.86 foot wide San Bernardino Avenue; thence westerly along the centerline of San Bernardino Avenue to its intersection with the centerline of 82*5 foot wide Mountain View Avenue., formerly Sterling Avenue; thence southerly along the center- line of Mountain View Avenue to an intersection with the centerline of Colton Ave- nue, formerly State Route No. 26, a street of 82.5 foot width as shown on the Map of Rancho San Bernardino recorded in Book of Maps 7, Page 2, records of said County; thence easterly along the centerline of Colton Avenue to a point 200 feet, measured at right angles, easterly of the east line of Mountain View Avenue; thence northerly parallel with the east line of Mountain View Avenue to an intersection with, the northerly line of the 100 foot wide Atchison., Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company right-of-way; thence southeasterly along the northerly line of said right- of-way to the centerline of 70 foot wide Lugonia Avenue; thence easterly along the centerline of Lugonia Avenue to an intersection with the southerly prolongation i P of the westerly line of Lot 7, Orange Grove Homestead; thence northerly Tong the westerly line of said Lot 7 and the prolongation thereof to the north line of the south one-half of said Lot 7p thence easterly parallel with. the centerline of Lugonia Avenue to the easterly line of said Lot 7; thence southerly along the easterly Line of Lot 7, Orange Grove Homestead, and the prolongation thereof to the centerline of Lugonia Avenue; thence easterly along the centerline of Lugonia Avenue to an intersection with the southerly prolongation of the westerly line of Lot 5, Orange Grove Homestead; thence northerly along said westerly line of Lot 5 L.o the southerly line of 60 foot gide Hugo Street; thence easterly along said southerly line to the easterly line of Lot 5, Orange Grove Homestead, thence southerly along said easterly line and the prolongation thereof to the centerline of Lugonia Avenue; thence easterly along the centerline of Lugoria Avenue to an intersection with the easterly Line of California Street; thence northerly along the easterly line cf California to the point of beginning. SECTION 4. That the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Clerk to submit this proposal for annexation of territory to the City of Redlands, designated "Annexation No. 14", to the Boundary Co,,=ssion of the County of San Bernardino in accordance with the provisions of Section 35002 of the Government Code of the State of California.
