HomeMy WebLinkAbout2333_CCv0001.pdf J RESOLUTION NO. 2333 RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "ANNEXATION NO. 17, " AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS; 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation, of Unin- habited territory act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the City of Redlands, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Redlands all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of San Bernardino , State of California, hereby designated as "Annexation No. 17" and described as follows Beginning at a point in the boundary of the City of Redlands, said point being the intersection of the centerline of Tennessee Street , 80 feet wide, and the easterly prolongation of the south line of the north half of the northeast quarter of Block 22, Barton Ranch as per plat recorded in Book 6 of Maps, Page 19, records of San Bernardino County; Thence westerly along said prolongation and south line of the north half of the said northeast quarter of the intersection with the west line of the east half of said Block 22 ; Thence southerly along the west litre of the east half of Block 22 to the intersection of the said line with the centerline of Orange Avenue, 50 feet wide ! thence easterly along the center- line of Orange Avenue to its point of intersection with the centerline of Tennessee Street ; thence northerly along the centerline of Tennesses Street to the point of beginning. 15.16 acres. 2. That the Council of the City of Redlands desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands for the following reasonsa The territory is contiguous to the City of Redlands, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of bath the City and the territory- proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and contribute to the proper and orderly layout , design and construction of streets, gutters, sidewalks, sani- tary and storm water sewers and drainage facilities, both within the City and within the territory proposed to be annexed; and will provide and facilitate proper overall planning and zoning of lands , and sub- division of lands in said City and said uninhabited territory, in a man- ner most conducive to the welfare of said City and said uninhabited territory. 3 , That a written petition for annexation, signed by all property owners within the territory proposed to be annexed, is on file in the office of the City Clerk. 4, That the County Boundary Commission of San Bernardino County, California, did in session duly assembled on seventeen, October, 1963 , approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Annexation No. 17" as above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the Council of the City of Redlands 5. That December seventeenth, 1963 , at the hour of 7 -00 P.M. , in the Council Chambers in the Safety Hall in the City of Redlands, County of San Bernardino, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the City of Red- lands who does not also own property within the territory to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of Redlands and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Redlands . 6, The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least once in the Redlands Daily Facts , a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Redlands , the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, said publication to be complete at least four (4 ) days prior to the date set for hearing. 7 . In the event there is , upon the Land proposed to be annexed, a structural improvement owned, being acquired or .leased by a county fire protection district , the said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such district , such notice to be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing upon such proposed annexation. 9.
