RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDSs
1e That the Council of the City of Redlands , for the reasons here-
inafter mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it
can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands all of
the territory hereinafter described„ as uninhabited territory, under
provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as
set forth in Sections 35300 to 35325 , of the Government Code of the
State of California..
2 ® That the Council ' s reasons for proposing to initiate said annexa-
tion proceedings are as follows : The annexation of the hereinafter des-
cribed terri:t ory will contribute to the orderly growth of the city,
provide the proper control of street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer
design and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the overall
plan of the city®
3 . That the territory* which the Council proposes to annex is here-
by identified as "Annexation 1811 and consists of all that real property
situate in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, described
as follows :
All that portion of Lots 2 and 3 in Block 1 of Henry Lo Williams
Tract , in County of San }Bernardino, State of California, as per
plat recorded in Book 11 of Maps, page 17, records of said County,
described as follows :
Beginning at the intersection of the prolongation of the easterly
line of said Lot 2 with the westerly prolongation of the northerly
line of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter, Section.
21, TIS, R3W, S.BAB. & M, being a point in the west boundary of the
City of Redlands ; thence southerly along said west boundary to the
southeasterly corner of said Lot 2 ; thence northwesterly along the
southerly line of said Lots 2 and 3 to the southwesterly corner of
said Lot 3 , said southerly line being also the northerly line of
50-foot wide A.T. & SoFo R.R. right of way; thence northerly along
the westerly line of said Lot 3 to an intersection with the said
westerly prolongation of the northerly Line of the SW quarter of
the S.W. quarter, Section 21, US, R3W, SyB.Ba & Mo ; thence easterly
along said prolongation to the point of beginning.
l+o That the City Cleric of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to
file with. the Local Agency Formation Commission and the Boundary Commission
of the County of San Bernardino, State of California, this proposal to
initiate proceedings to annex the hereinabove described uninhabited ter-
ritory to the City of Redlands, and to request a report by the Commis-
sions provided for in Section 35002 of the Government Code,
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of December, 1963-
