RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS:
1. That the Council of the City of Redlands, for the reasons
hereinafter mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon
as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands
all of the territory hereinafter described, as uninhabited territory,
under provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939
as set forth in Sections 35300 to 35325, of the Government Code of the
State of California.
2 . That the Council ' s reasons for proposing to initiate said
annexation proceedings are as follows : The annexation of the hereinafter
described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the city,
provide the proper control of street layout , drainage , sanitary sewer
design and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the over-
all plan of the city.
3. That the territory which the Council proposes to annex is
hereby identified as "Annexation 2011 and consists of all that real
property situate in the County of San Bernardino, State of California,
described as follows :
The West Y2 of Government Lot 10, Section 12 , Township 2 South
Range 3 West, SAN BERNARDINO .BASE AND MERIDIAN, in the County
of San Bernardino, State of California, according to the offi-
cial plat of said land filed June 9, 1880, in the office of the
Bureau of Land Management . EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion
commencing on the Southeast corner of said West Y2 of Govern-
ment Lot 10; thence along the East lime of the West Y2 North
315 feet ; thence West parallel with said lot line 300 ft.; thence
North parallel to the East line of the West Y2 of said Lot 10,
285 ft . ; thence West parallel to the South .line of said lot 338
ft. , more or less, to a point in the West line of said Lot ;
thence South along said West line 600 feet to the Southwest corner
of said Lot ; thence East along South line to the point of begin-
ning. EXCEPT that portion conveyed to the County of San Bernar-
dino by deed recorded April 30, 1959, in book 4805 of Official
Records , page 162, for road purposes. Approximately 13 .17 acres.
4. That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby
directed to file with the Local Agency Formation Commission and the
Boundary Commission of the County of San Bernardino, State of Califor-
nia, this proposal to initiate proceedings to annex the hereinabove
described uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands and to request a
report by the Commissions provided for in Section 35002 of the
Government Code.
