HomeMy WebLinkAbout2493_CCv0001.pdf i C RESOLUTION NO. 2493 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO, 29, " AND GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS : SECTION ONE: That, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation of the Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, " proceedings have been initi- ated by the Council of the City of Redlands , on its own motion, to an- nex to the City of Redlands all that uninhabited territory situated in the County of San Bernardino , State of California, hereby designated as "Annexation District No . 29" and described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto . SECTION TWO : That the City Council of the City of Redlands de- sires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands for the .following reasons : The territory is contiguous to the City of Redlands and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and contribute to the proper and orderly layout , design and construction of streets , gutters, side- walks , sanitary and storm water sewers and drainage facilities , both within the City and within the territory proposed to be annexed ; and will provide and facilitate proper overall planning and zoning of lands , and subdivision of lands in said City and said uninhabited territory, in a manner most conducive to the welfare of said City and said uninhabited territory, SECTION THREE ; That Annexation No. 29 as above described was ap- proved by the Local Agency Formation Commission at a regular meeting thereof held December 1 , 1965 , as submitted to said Commission by the Council of the City of Redlands . SECTION FOUR: That January 18, 1966, at the hour of 7 :00 P.M. , in the Council Chambers in the Safety Building, 212 Brookside Avenue , in the City of Redlands , County of San Bernardino. California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory described in Exhibit "A" and proposed to be annexed to `the City of Redlands , and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the Council of the City of Redlands and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Redlands . Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hear- ing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the descrip- tion and area of such property, in general terms . SECTION FIVE: The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be pub- lished at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Red- lands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Redlands, the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the San Bernardino Sun, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Redlands but in the County of San Bernardino, California , the county in which is lo- cated the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Redlands , said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. SECTION SIX : The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date above said proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest , either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. SECTION SEVEN: In the event any land within the territory pro- posed to be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of the county, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the pro- posed annexation. SECTION EIGHT- In the event that there is, upon the land pro- posed to be annexed, a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a county fine protection district, the said Clerk is di- rected to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such district, such notice to be sent not less than tern ( 10) days before the first public hearing upon such proposed annexation. SECTION NINE: The City Clerk is directed to cause written not- ice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto , in the manner required by law„ ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 7th day of December, 1965, by the following vote : AYES - Councilmen Martinez , Wagner, Hartzell, Cummings, Mayor Burroughs NOES : none ABSENT: None ATTEST: s/ Waldo F. Taylor City Attornay ANNEXATION NO. - 29 All that portion in Section 22, T1S, R2W, in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, described as follows:: Southwest 4 of Northeast 4, the northwest 4 of the Southeast 4, East 1-2- of Southeast 4, Southwest 44 of Southeast 4, Southeast of voath* v7es4 4, of Section 22, TIS, R2W. Also that portion of Mill Creek Road in the West 'k, of Northeast 4 of Section 22, lying Easterly of a line parallel to East line of Section 22 and 2154. 95 feet distant from the Northeast corner of Southeast 4, Northeast 4 of said Section 22. Also Lot 41 of Tract 2875, Valley Vista Tract as recorded in Book 8 of maps, Fame 81 thereof, Records of the said County. Also all that portion of Lot 3, Block 27, of Mentone, San Bernardino County, California, as per plat thereof recorded in Book 8 of Naps, at Page 81, records of the County Recorder of San Bernardino County, des- crib-ad as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot 42, Tract No. 2875, Valle Vista Tract, as per plat thereof recorded in Book 45 of Maps, at Pages 48, 49, and 50, records of the County Recorder of San Bernardino County; thence South along the West line of Lot 42 of said Tract No. 2875, 20 feet; thence due West along the North line of Lot 41 of said Tract No. 2875, 101.36 feet; thence due North 36. 19 feet; thence South 800 55' 30" East, 101.44 feet to the point of beginning.
