HomeMy WebLinkAbout2943_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO, 2943 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY' COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS PAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNIN14-ABI 'ED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HERE AND DESIGNATED `ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO, 46, " AND GIVING NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED ANNEXATION BE IT RESOLVED BY 'HE MAYOR AND THE CITY 1COUNCIL OF TUE CITY OF REDLANDS : SECTION ONE: That, pursuant to the provisions of the °'Annexa- tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, " proceedings have been initiated by the Council of tIe C`ty of Redlands, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Redlands all that unInhabited territory situated in the Cou�ity of San Bernardino, State of California, hereby designated as "Annexation District No. 46" and described as follows: All of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 21 T. 1 S. , R. 3 W. S �B.B� & M, and a Portion of Alabama Street as per Henry L. Williams Tract, recorded in Book 11 of Maps, Page 17, in the office of the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino, State of California, more particularly described as follows : Beginning at the Southeast corner of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4, Section 21, T. I S . , R. 3 W. , S.B,,B� & M. , also being a point on the present boundary of the City of Redlands; thence Westerly along the South line of said Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 1340 feet more or less to the centerline of improvement of Alabama Street as shown on Parcel Map No. 181, recorded in Book 2 of Parcel Maps, Page 50, records of San Bernardino County, State of California; thence Northerly along said centerline of improve- ment of Alabama Street 1320 feet more or less to an inter- section with the centerline of Lugonia Avenue, said center- line of Lugonia Avenue also being the North line of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4, Section a 1� T< I S . , R. 3 w. , S ,E,B, & m, ,- thence Easterly along said North line of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4, Section 21, T. 1 S . , R. 3 W. , Su B, 8- - & M� ,, 1340 feet more or less to the East line of the Northwest- 1/4 of the Southwest 1/14, Section 21, T. I S. , R, 3 W. , S.B.B. & M , said East line of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4, Section 21, T. I S . , R. 3 W. , S.SzB,, & M. , also being the existing boundary of the City of Redlands, thence Southerly along said East line of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4, Sect-Ion 21, T. I S . , R. 3 W� , SeB�B� & M. , 1.320 feet more or less to - beginning. the pain l� k-of - SECTION ITN`0: ha,t the City Council of the City of Redlands desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands for the followinq reasons - ' '`lie territory is contiguous to the City of Redlands and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed,- will facilitate and contribute to the proper and orderly layour, design and construction of streets, gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm water sewers and drainage facilities, both within the City and within the territory proposed to be annexed; and will provide and facilitate proper overall plan- ning and zoning of lands, and subdivision of lands in said City and said uninhabited territory, in a manner most conducive to the welfare of said City and said uninhabited territory, SECTION THREE: T,hat Annexation No.. 46 as above described was approved by the Local agency Formation Commission at a regular meet- i person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. SECTION SEVEN: In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of the County, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hear- ing = the ,proposed annexation. SECTION EIGHT: In the event that there is, upon the land pro- posed to be annexed, a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire protection district, the said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such ProDosed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such district, such notice to be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing upon such proposed annexation. SECTION NINE: The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
