A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PROCEEDINGS
TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY - ANNEXATION NO. 56
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS :
1. That the City Council of the City of Redlands , for the reasons
hereinafter mentioned, Proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon
as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands
all of the territory hereinafter described, as uninhabited territory,
under provisions of the Municipal organization Act of January 1 , 1978 ,
as set forth in Sections 35300 and 35325 of the Government Code of the
State of California.
2. That the City Council 's reasons for proposing to initiate said
annexation proceedings are as follows: The annexation of the herein-
after described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the
City, provide the proper control of street layout, drainage, sanitary
sewer design and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the
overall plan of the City.
3. That the territory which the City Council proposes to annex is
hereby identified as "Annexation No. 56" and consists of all that real
property situated in the County of San Bernardino, State of California,
described in Exhibit A attached hereto and as shown on the map attached
hereto as Exhibit B.
4 . That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed
to file with the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of San
Bernardino, State of California, this resolution that proceedings have
been initiated to annex the herein above-described uninhabited territory
to the City of Redlands, to request a report by the Commission provided
for in Section 35002 of the Government Code, and to submit and execute
such other applications and reports as may be required by law in such
annexation proceedings.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of July, 1979 .

All of Block 18 and a portion of Block 13, 19 and 21 of Barton Ranch as
recorded in Book 6 of Maps, Page 9 , in the office of the County Recorder,
County of San Bernardino, State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Citrus Avenue with
the centerline of Kansas Street; thence northerly along said centerline
of Kansas Street to its intersection with the north line of the south
340 feet of the southwest quarter of said Lot 21; thence easterly along
last said north line to its intersection with the west line of the east
one-half of said Block 21; thence northerly along last said line to its
intersection with the centerline of Park Avenue; thence westerly along
last said line to -its intersection with the centerline of Kansas Street;
thence northerly along last said line to its intersection with the north
Line of the southeast quarter of Block 19; thence westerly along last
said line to its intersection with a line parallel with and 330.15 feet
westerly of said centerline of Kansas Street; thence northerly along last
said parallel line to its intersection with a line, said line being
parallel with said north line of the southeast quarter of Block 19 and
110 feet distant from the centerline of Kansas Street (measured parallel
to the centerline of superseded State Route No. 26) to a point 200 feet
southerly from the southerly right of way line of said State Route No.
26; thence easterly along said line, said line being parallel to said
north line of the southeast quarter of Block 19 , to its intersection with
a line parallel with and 110 feet northwesterly from the centerline of
Kansas Street (measured) parallel to the centerline of said superseded
State Route No. 26) ; thence northerly along said line, said line being
parallel to Kansas Street, to its intersection with the centerline of
said State Route No. 26; thence northwesterly along last said line to its
intersection with the northerly prolongation of the east line of that
real property as recorded on December 31, 1971, in Book 7826 of Deeds,
Page 706, in the office of the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino,
State of California; thence south 01" 00' 10" east to the northeasterly
corner of said Deed; thence south 010 00 ' 10" east, 182. 98 feet along
the east line of said Deed to the southeasterly corner thereof; thence
north 79" 121 45" west to an intersection with the east line of that
real property as recorded on November 3, 1971, in Book 7788 of Deeds,
Page 105, in the office of the Recorder of said County; thence south
011 00' 10" east, 40 . 00 feet along said east line to the southeasterly
corner of said Deed; thence south 790 121 45" east, 179-88 feet; thence
south 011 00 ' 10" east 306 feet more or less to the south line of the
north one-half of said Block 19; thence westerly along last said line to
its intersection with said centerline of Alabama Street; thence southerly
along last said line to its intersection with the south line of the
north one-half of said Block 13; thence westerly along last said line to
the west line of the east one-half of said Block 13; thence southerly
along said west line of the east one-half of Block 13 to its intersection
with Citrus Avenue; thence easterly along last said line to the Point of
Beginning.
