HomeMy WebLinkAbout3626_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 3626 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY -- ANNEXATION NO. 58 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS : 1. That the City Council of the City of Redlands, for the reasons hereinafter mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands all of the territory hereinafter described, as uninhabited territory, under provisions of the Municipal Organization Act of January 1, 1977 , as set forth in Sections 35300 and 35325 of the Government Code of the State of California . 2. That the Citv Council ' s reason for proposing to initiate said annexation proceedings are as follows : The annexation of the herein- after described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the City, provide the proper control of street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the overall plan of the City. 3 . That the territory which the City Council proposes to annex is hereby identified as "Annexation No. 58" and consists of all that real property situated in the County of San Bernardino, State of Cali- fornia, described in Exhibit A attached hereto and as shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit B. 4 . That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to file with the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of San Bernardino, State of California, this resolution that proceedings have been initiated to annex the herein above described uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands, to request a report by the Commission provided for in Section 35002 of the Government Code, and to submit and execute such other applications and reports as may be required by law in such annexation proceedings. 5. That the City Council of the City of Redlands further requires that applicant reimburse the City for costs of preparation, staff time, advertising, and miscellaneous expenses connected with this annexation, as determined by the City, prior to final Council action. Attached are maps showing a recommended boundary with one map indicating the existing zones and the other illustrating current land use. '4'l"f'.:.���� T.P.. � , s f ,alG ENGINEERING Planning and Enginee7ing June 30, 1981 Honorable City Council City of Redlands 30 Cajon Street Redlands, California 92373 Gentlemen: C G Engineering, acting on behalf of Henry Van Mouwerik, Joe Van Mouwerik, and Jan Van Mouwerik, hereby request the annexation of 211± acres of unincorporated land which has been recognized by the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFC) as being located within the City of Redlands' sphere of influence and includes property owned by Mr. Van Mouwerik. The subject annexation area is located on the western fringe of Redlands between Brookside Avenue and Citrus Avenue on both sides of Alabama Street as depicted in the attached exhibit and legal description. We present the following reasons as support for the request for annexation: a. The annexation of the hereinafter described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the City, provide the proper control of street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design, and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the overall plan of the City. b. The territory proposed to be annexed is contiguous to the corporate limits of the City of Redlands. c. The incorporation of this territory will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed and vAill also provide a unil:7or-n and orderly manner for plan- ning and zoning of lands and the subdivision of lands in said City and said unincorporated territory in a manner most conducive to the welfare of said City and said territory.
