HomeMy WebLinkAbout4224_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 4224 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN NOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY ANNEXATION NO. 62 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS: 1. That the City Council of the City of Redlands, for the reasons hereinafter mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands all of the territory hereinafter described, as uninhabited territory, pursuant to the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, Division 3 , commencing with Section 56000 of the Government Code of the State of California. 2. That the City Council' s reason for proposing to initiate said annexation proceedings are as follows: The annexation of the hereinafter described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the City, provide the proper control of street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design, and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the overall plan of the City. 3 . That this proposal is consistant with the sphere of influence of the City of Redlands. 4 . That the territory which the City Council proposes to annex is hereby identified as Annexation No. 62 and consists of all that real property situated northerly of Fifth Avenue, easterly of Wabash Avenue, southerly of Highland Avenue and westerly of Opal Avenue, as shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit A. 5 . That the proposed annexation has not been pre-zoned and shall retain the existing County boning Designation until appropriate City Zoning is approved. 6. That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to file with the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of San Bernardino, State of California, this resolution that proceedings have been initiated to annex the herein above described uninhabited territory to the City of Redlands, to request a report by the Commission provided for by the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, and to submit and execute such other applications and reports as may be required by law in such annexation proceedings. MAYS County Administrative Officer SUBJECT: PROPERTY TAX TRANSFER TO THE CITY OF REDLANDS, LAFC NO. 2419 RECOMMENDATION: Adopt a resolution transferring $735.00 to the City of Redlands as a result of pending annexation. BACKGROUND: State law requires that agreement on distribution of property tax relating to proposed boundary changes be reached before the Local Agency Formation Commission issues a Certificate of Filing. On May 19, 1980, the Board of Supervisors approved the formula for property tax transfers which had been agreed upon by County staff and a committee of city managers. This action will determine the share of property tax revenue to be allocated as a result of this jurisdictional change and shall only be effective upon satisfactory completion of annexation proceedings. The amount is transferred from County General Operations, Library, CSA 38, and its Improvement Zone G, CSA 70 and its Improvement Zone A.
