A RESOLUTION OF TME CITY COl_1NCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ORDERING TERRITORY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF REDLANDS
LAFCO NO. 2839D - ANNEXATION NO. 76D
WHEREAS, this action is being; taken pursuant to the Cortese/Knox Local Government
Reorganization Act of 1985 (commencing; with Section 56000 of the California Government
Code); and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of San Bernardino
(LAFCO) adopted its Resolution No. 2630 on November 18, 1998, making determinations and
approving the proposed annexation of territory described in Exhibits "A" and "A-1," attached
hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of annexation as approved by the LAFCO, and
contained in LAFCO Resolution No. 2630, are as follows:
"Condition No. 1. The conducting authority for this proceeding shall be the City of
Redlands (hereinafter referred to as 'the City').
Condition No. 2. The conducting; authority shall provide individual property owner
notification of its hearing by certified mail, return receipt requested.
Condition No. 3. The boundaries are approved as set forth in Exhibits "A" and "A-I"
attached.
Condition No. 4. The following; distinctive short-form designation shall be used
throughout this proceeding: LAFCO 2839D.
Condition No. 5. All previously authorized charges, fees, assessincnts, and/or taxes
currently in effect by the City (annexing agency) shall be assumed by
the annexing territory in the same manner as provided in the original
authorization pursuant to Government Code Section 56844(1).
Condition No. 6. The City agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the San
Bernardino County Local Agency Fornnation Commission from any
legal expense, legal action, or judgment arising out of the
Commission's approval of this proposal, including any reimbursement
of legal fees and costs incurred by the Commission.
Condition No. 7. The date of issuance of the Certificate of Completion shall be the
effective date of this annexation;" and

WHEREAS, the reasons for this annexation are: the annexation of this territory will
contribute to the orderly growth of the City of Redlands and will ensure the proper use of land in
conformity with the General Plan of the City of Redlands; and the annexation area will benefit
from the hill range of services available from the City of Redlands as evidenced by the City of
E Redlands' Plan for Services reviewed by the LAFCO; and this proposal and its stated purpose of
providing municipal level services to in island of territory promotes adopted LAFCO policies
and directives of law; and
WHEREAS, the regular County of San Bernardino assessment roll is utilized by the City
of Redlands; and
WHEREAS, the affected territory will be taxed for existing general bonded indebtedness
and contractual obligations of the City of Redlands; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands certifies it has reviewed and
considered LAFCO's environmental determination and directs the Planning and Community
Development Director, or his designee, to file a Notice of Exemption within five (5) working
days; and
WHEREAS, a public }tearing on this annexation was called for and held by the City
Council of the City of Redlands on December 19, 2000, at the time and place for which notice
was given, and the City Council of the City of Redlands finds and determines that the value of
written protests filed and not withdrawn represents owners of land who own less thaii 50 percent
of the total assessed value of land within the affected territory.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redlands
hereby orders the territory described in Exhibits "A" and "A-t" annexed, and directs the City
Clerk to transmit a certified copy of this resolution with applicable fees required by
Section 54902.5 of the California Government Code to the Executive Officer of the San
Bernardino County Local Agency Formation Commission.
